Do you let your kids stay up for New Years Eve?

My 4-year-old won't be staying up but I'll let the 11-year-old stay up. I think she was 9 when she started staying up.

What are you feelings on staying up for the New Years holiday? At what age is it OK?

My dd was five when she started attending overnighters and staying up past midnight for New Years.

dd is a night owl. midnight is when she goes to bed. if not later.

so my equivalent would be to wake up at 6 am to see the sunrise or something like that. hard for dd to do.

but yes when dd used to go to school and maintain an earlier bedtime - she did stay up on new years because during the holidays she'd go back to being a nightowl.

sorry not really helpful.

however i will say my 11 year old is SOOOOOOO different than her 9 year old self. she does more stuff than even a regular 11 year old is allowed to do.

Mine are 4 and 9. I let the 4 year-old stay up until 10 and the 9 yo was up until about 11. Then I woke my 9 YO up right before midnight to watch the ball drop and go out and bang pots and pans. She went right back to sleep after that. Once my litle one is old enough to know the difference, I'll wake her up too.
