anyone knit or do counted cross stitch?

Thread Starter

I love to knit on knitting looms and do counted cross stitch in my spare time.  Even my niece, Brianna, who's a toddler, likes to watch me knit and wants to learn how to do that someday.  She always tells me what colors she wants for socks, hats, scarves, and even washcloths.  I even cross stitched most of the bibs that Brianna wore when she was an infant (using those Charles Craft baby bibs that are sold in craft stores).

Does anyone else like these two crafts?  What other crafts do you guys do in your spare time?

I know we have loads of knitters here so surely someone will share their knitting love. @AdinaL and @Shantimama are both avid knitters so hopefully they will stop by and post.

Anyone do counted cross stich?

briannas auntie, we'd love to see some of your work. Got any pics to share? crochetsmilie.gif

I knit and think life is too short to do counted cross :)  I have very very little spare time although you wouldn't realize that from my DDC lol.  Join us in the 52 project challenge!  You don't have to do 52 projects to be in- because if it were counted cross it would be worth like all 52....

As for my other crafty endeavors- I love sewing handbags and am working on some suede and potato sack ones currently.

It is so sweet that you are knitting for your niece.  I knit for my babies but rarely for my other kids- they are too hard on things for me to justify it...  Although when my oldest DD was about 4 I let her pick out yarn for the lovely little socks ever (which I have saved away for my little DD now.

I took up knitting a few weeks ago and enjoy counted cross stitch, though it's been a few months since I sat down with my two unfinished (cross stitch) projects.  Both are Christmas decorations so I have not worried much about them.

As of yet, I have not tried knitting with a loom.  I love the feel of the needles in my hands and have thoroughly enjoyed working with double point needles.  At some point I imagine I will try one, but it is fairly low on my list right now.

Due to a lack of time, I currently carry small projects to university with me and knit while I read before class.

I knit but HATE HATE HATE looms.  DD has one and I can't stand helping her with the loom
