3rd child - you'd think I wouldn't worry so much

So, yes, my 3rd kid is almost a month old.  I'm visiting my mom, away from hubby for a month, and my ds2 gets a fever.  Ds2 usually doesn't get sick too badly, but ds1 usually gets everything worse...including having to do the whole nebulizer thing if there's any coughing involved.  Plus, I'm worried sick about the baby getting sick.  I just had my mom go and buy a little thermometer for the baby, although her forehead feels ok so far.  I know any fever in a baby under 2 or 3 months is an emergency room visit...but what is it they do there?  I've heard that they do a spinal tap to test for meningitis?  I am really hoping no one else will get sick...

Ds1 was sick when ds2 was born, but at least my dh was around and was able to keep ds1 away from ds2 the whole time, so ds2 never got it.

Oh, and I think I just broke my pinkie toe by walking into the bouncy chair.

Just venting here...but any hopeful stories are more than welcome!  Thanks for listening.

I think they tell you to call the doctor if their temperature is 100.4. Don't quote me, but I think that's close if not correct. My friend's baby had a spinal tap but that was because he spiked a high fever rather suddenly after getting a flu shot. I would hope they don't do that routinely. I hope all your babies are doing ok and that your toe is ok! Traveling with babies is rough. It makes everything a little more stressful.
