Florida schools?

We are looking to move this summer, and would like to find a city with a Waldorf high school. However, I don't think there are any in Florida...is this correct? Does anyone know where the 8th graders go for high school?

We're looking at Suncoast and Sea Star Initiative, so if you have kids in either school, could you tell me about them? My daughter has been in Waldorf for 8 years. She's in 4th grade this year.

I don;t know of any in Florida myself (I have family there but am not living there). Have you tried posting over in the Florida forum to ask?

I don't know for sure, but the last I looked the Suncoast Waldorf School and the one in Sarasota were the only full fledged schools in Florida.  I'm not sure about initiatives.  I do know that the Suncoast school downsized last year, and dropped it's grades 6-8 program.  In response, I'm fairly sure there is a separate middle school initiative developed by parents.  I don't know the details, but I've heard about it, and I think it is going on (I saw a post about a play they were doing recently).  I bet if you call the school they would know more.

Hey- my son is in third grade at Sea Star, which only goes through eight grade right now. Not sure yet about our plans for high school!

We love Sea Star, have been there since its inception. I am happy to answer any questions you have about the school!
