anyone else totally surprised by this baby?

We thought we were done having babies, we have three and they keep me going all day! Plus our finances are a mess and dh is not working! So we were actively preventing pg (condoms), but apparently at least one little swimmer got thru. I had no idea that condoms are *at best* 97% effective and sometimes alot lower. I'm not looking forward to explaining to all and sundry, why just months after we reassured family & friends that we were done, that #4 is on the way. Especially our parents, who were less than thrilled with #3 (of course, now they all love him to pieces!) That is the main reason we are waiting until the last possible moment to tell them, to shorten the time between annoucement and birth. Since I've still got a layer of baby fat hanging round, I might be able to get to 12-14 weeks before it's obvious.

YEP!
Surprise!

and I will say CONGRATULATIONS to you!

My family all said how glad they were when we said we were done after our 2nd. I think I secretly wanted another one 4 or more years down the road...oops! 2yrs later!

We plan on telling them this weekend at her bday party. wish me luck

I am another total surpriser. Our youngest is 6 (oldest 9) and we were waaaay done--all things baby and maternity have pretty much been gone from this house. This was also a condom surprise (we've never had problems before this!) So I have a lot of very different feelings than the other 2 planned pregnancies, and it is odd to be sorting through them. I get a boost from everyone else's joy and 'congratulations!'

Another condom surprise baby here.... Though must admit that I really was wanting to have another one. I had actually very recently decided that we would probably pursue adoption in a year or so ....then WHAMMO! We really haven't told many people and I'm trying to keep it a secret at work for as long as I can. DD is 2.5 and I'd finally started getting some more regular sleep. Oh well....

yes, yes. total surprise. my twins are just now 9 months old and will only be 17 months old when #4 comes along. we are dreading telling family and friends, well, dh is dreading it, i don't really think it's anyone's business, but then again, i am a little more, um... fiesty than he is!

This one is a surprise for us too! Not the greatest timing as my husband is gone from home a LOT right now We already have 5 and although I would have (and did!) said that I wanted another baby, my family is not real thrilled. They think we are too poor for the ones we have I am looking forward to the m/s ending so I can feel more excited about this!

Yes, this one is a surprise A happy one for me, not a happy one for my husband. Our son is 6.5 months old--and my husband's job situation is iffy beginning in July... so he's a bit nervous about finances. NOBODY except my Dad has said congratulations to me, which sort of pisses me off. I view this baby as a blessing... even if it may not be the exact perfect time... but then again, when is?

Another surprise here. We ran out of condoms, so dh was supposed to pull out. At the last minute, he got a bad leg cramp and was immobilized! Ooops! I knew I was going to end up pregnant as soon as it happened.

We have two together and I have four from a previous marriage, so this will be baby number seven. We haven't told the kids or our families yet and NO ONE is going to be happy for us. Sometimes people just suck.

Mom to seven and one more due on Christmas Day!

Total suprise here as well.....I was somewhat doing NFP and thought we were 'safe' since it was 5 days before I usually ovulate and it was a 'dry' day....but sure enought the very next morning I started with EWCM that lasted the whole 5 days up to O - looks like we have strong swimmers LOL! I knew after that there was a slight chance, but really didn't think so. Anyway - we had always planned on having a third - but had just decided to wait *for sure* until December to start TTCing - and now we will be giving birth in Dec instead LOL!

Another surprise here too! We already have three, eldest will be 14 in June, so we felt complete and I was excited about moving on from the baby stage. I am shocked but excited, but DH is still in denial!

I have one dd whos 2.5, and i had been open to another one since the first was born. A few months ago I decided one was enough. Well, this one is meant to be here, b/c as soon as I decided that, I got pregnant after nearly three years of not doing anything to actively avoid it (nothing physically anyway, but thought does have a lot of power). I have found that the more i can accept being pregnant, the less nauseous and sick I feel. But sometimes I get a sneak attack (like when making cookies!).
We don't live near any of our relatives, so I was able to tell dd as soon as we knew. 2 families we hang out with a lot just had babies, so she is very excited. She can't wait until she can feel the baby moving. She's so cute about it, it makes dp and me more happy about it. We finally told the family, and they were all surprisingly excited.
My dp gets a kick out of checking out cute maternity clothes online. He thinks I should still look normal (I FULLY agree.... LOVE him!)
I'm due in mid-December. Hoping for a winter equinox baby.

I suppose that would be *at best* or perfect use, which doesn't really happen. The annual failure rate for condoms is 12% So on average, 12 out of 100 women using condoms as sole forms of contraception will become pregnant within a period of one year. Definitely not fool proof.

Now I was suprised by this baby, mainly because I had been brest feeding and never had a period... then at my annual exam suprise! Guess who was 7 weeks pregnant and had no idea?! LOL

Aw well, I am happy about it. I know I wanted another, just wasn't sure when. Now is just as good as any other time I suppose
