I would like to do it too. I already got a bunch of beads from some lovely ladies when I was home for the holidays so it will be nice to add to the collection. I am in Canada so just remind me how you want to handle the shipping etc.

Last call! I'll post the final, official number sometime this weekend so everyone can get their beads. smile.gif

I wanted to purchase my beads today since I have to make a trip to the craft store for my son's school project--and word on the final number? Thank you!

Sorry it wasn't up earlier! It looks like our final number is 22. It's usually best to add on a few extras just in case.

Will do--thank you thank you! Can't wait to get started :)

When do we have to get the beads to you buy? I'll try and hit up Michael's this weekend!

I'd like people to aim to get them to me by March 1st.

I had quite a rough day today and wasn't able to be online much, but I plan on sending out a PM some time this week to remind everyone to buy their beads (with my address so you know where to send them and the deadline).

Going downtown to buy my beads today. Will be thinking happy thoughts of you all!

So, what kind of beads are some of you ladies getting? I was really hoping to get glass beads but haven't found anything with big enough holes that are relatively affordable.

I like to buy from a bead supplier (I use Fire Mountain Gems) because they sell a lot of things by the strand instead of individually, which can save a bit. But typically I still end up spending $1-2/bead to get something distinctive.

That is exactly what I'm looking for! All I kept coming across was wholesale stuff that sold a CRAP TON of beads, when I only need 22.

If we buy online, how do we know the hole is big enough.  You want us to get a #2 pencil in, right?  Or just the lead of a #2 pencil?

The guidelines say the lead. Glad you said that, so I could read it more carefully. lol

Just the lead! The idea is just to make sure everyone is able to string the beads on their choice of material so nobody has to go out and get super-fine thread if a few people buy beads with tiny holes. For online shopping, I just look at how many mm the bead is and how big the hole looks in relation. If the hole isn't big enough, you can still participate. It's just a guideline to hopefully make things easier when we're all stringing them in a few months! smile.gif
