So far, she's more interested in the rods, which I have way more fun with, and am perhaps more enthusiastic about.
With the rods, she's been exploring adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in a really holistic way, or so it seems to me. I like that she's getting to know each value she plays with in and out, without the restrictions of so-called 'age-appropriate curriculum.'
She was getting a bit anxious about the workbooks (you know how E is ...), so I didn't bring them with us for our 5 weeks in Mexico.
We've been using the rods exclusively, and she's been dictating her equations to me. That's been great!
