12 Weeks!!!

Well ladies, our August babies are getting to that point!!!  I'm due at the beginning of August, and I reached 12 weeks on the weekend.  For some reason (maybe that reason is 3 previous miscarriages...or the fact that I don't feel like barfing 24/7...) I always breath a little easier at 12 weeks. Anyway, I hope that we can all ring in 12 weeks with joy and anticipation!  I know I'm feeling it.

Anxiously awaiting! I have a week and a half at least.

12 weeks and a couple days over here!!!

I love birth, but not necessarily pregnancy so 12 weeks to me means it's closer to being over!! Lol.

Well, my appointment today was less than calming. They couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler... I'm trying not to be worried, but I am 12 +4, and my next door neighbor found out yesterday that her pregnancy (she was due the day after me) isn't viable, so I'm a little nervous. Trying to stay calm, but just a little nervous...

Aw, I hope it was a fluke and babe was just tucked away in there hiding out. Will you have an ultrasound??

I can't decide. I didn't plan on having any ultrasounds.  I got her to write the request, but I'm not sure if I'll book the appointment.  This week we are doing a whole bunch of stuff for the adoption of our oldest, so I really don't have time, and DH can't take any more time off work, and I wouldn't want to go alone, in case it's bad news.  No news is better than bad news, right?!?  I don't know. I feel pregnant. I look pregnant.  I think I'm pregnant.  I hope I'm pregnant.  Aghhh. I hate this.

i need to learn from you.  just the opposite over here.

*shudders* birth is so hard for me!!!!

only 10 weeks and some change here....  but i usually force myself to make it to 14 weeks before calling the first trimester over.  cause i've gone to the full 42 weeks and want to make that 3rd trimester not that much longer than the first!!!!

Aww I'm sorry the appointment was less then thrilling.  For what it's worth I've heard it's very tricky to find the heartbeat with a doppler at 12 weeks.  I've heard of ladies taking up to an hour to find it at that stage.   I first heard my son's heartbeat via doppler at 16 weeks and even then she had a very hard time finding it!  I'm sure everything is fine.  :)

I hope so. I'm sitting here at 9:07, feeling sick still. That's a good sign, right? 12 weeks was supposed to be the magic number!  Really, I'm not as worried as I'm making out - I just hate suspense and like to be in control, and this is beyond that.  I'll keep you all posted!

I still have 2 weeks and some change but that's alright!! I'm still getting excited to *almost* be there!

I think the fact that you're still feeling sick is a very good sign. Did your MW seem surprised? You're still at the earlier end of the range and maybe implantation just took longer or babe kept swimming away? I really wouldn't worry yet, but would probably want to go in sooner than four weeks from now to give it another try.

Try to put your mind at ease. 12 weeks is still early for Doppler! We won't even plan on hearing a heartbeat with a fetoscope until 20 weeks! Just imagine if you hadn't tried the Doppler at all, you wouldn't have these fears. Breathe easy, connect with your baby and try to smile in your nausea (a good sign)!

Piratemere, I know your pain as the same thing happened to me with DS and that was at 13+ weeks. I did go for an ultrasound then and all was good! This time around my husband really wanted the IPS so we saw our baby on Friday. Then two days ago at 12w 1d we had another midwife apt and she could not find the heartbeat again as I had totally expected by now. In both pregnancy the placenta was/is at the front which does make it harder plus baby can still hide behind the pubic bone... Try not to worry too much! It's likely all fine considering your pregnancy symptoms. We made it to 12 weeks, yay smile.gif

I'm so far away....this Saturday I'll be at 9 weeks. Almost three weeks which seems like an eternity.  I keep wondering, am I still pregnant?? confused.gif

Feeling slightly nauseous today which is a good sign. Sigh....

AS IF waiting for my 12 week appointment wasn't already 8 weeks of pure torture... I got a call this morning from the birth center, 1 hour before my 9am appointment... because they needed to change my appointment to 1:30pm, "Unless you just want to reschedule for another day. We'd be looking at a couple of weeks out."

LOL story of my life.

I'll just be here pacing around my house for the next 4 hours if anybody needs me.

...And from the sounds of it - I shouldn't immediately freak-out if a heartbeat isn't found. Got it.

(yeah right, I'll totally freak out)

Thanks all for the reassurance. I have decided to go in for the ultrasound, just for some peace of mind. I somehow feel like I'm coping out, as I didn't plan on any doppler/ultrasounds, but I feel like I need to check.

Giving yourself some peace of mind that will potentially ease your worry and stress should never be considered copping out!!

Best of luck!

You're totally not copping out, Piratemere! Like said above it is so important not to stress smile.gif It will be such a relief to see your little babe (hopefully)! It sure was for me 4 years ago and really just as much last Friday when we had that first (IPS) ultrasound. Keep us posted!
