Small amount of vitamin a in aloe vera gel safe during pregnancy?

Hello all:) I am a cautious mom who is about 6 weeks pregnant with my second. So here is my concern: I purchased some natural aloe vera gel from a health food store to use for diluting some essential oils to apply to may face. I noticed when I got home that vitamin a (retinyl palmitate) was on the ingredient list. The package says 99% aloe vera so I am pretty sure there is not much vitamin a in it, but I have heard the use of vitamin a products should be limited or discontinued during pregnancy. On the contrary I have also heard that topical vitamin a, especially weaker versions such as retinyl palmitate are completely safe to use topically during pregnancy. So if anyone knows the answer to this I would be grateful. I would hate to cause harm to my baby just because I didn't want to waste a $5 tube of aloe, but I also don't want to live in fear over something that is probably harmless. I definitely am a worrier and I am trying to break the habit and just have a "healthy" amount of worry in my life. lol:o

I think it is fine. Can you ask your doctor or midwife?
