Hydrogen Peroxide for Colds?

I was wondering if anyone has used 3% Hydrogen peroxide solution into the ears as a cold/flu/fever and earache remedy and how you got on? I saw it reccommended on Dr Mercola and it seems an interesting idea. Can anyone tell me more?

I have used peroxide AND water soaked in a cotton ball to soften ear wax.....I use a 50/50 mixture....
