a bit fearful

Today was my routein clinical checkup. As soon as i walked in the nurses told me that order were left by the Dr for me to go to be admitted at hospital. Hospital and I do not agree not one bit. Im supposed to be admitted to have the stitches removed. When i got to my office, I called my Dr and asked him whether it can be done in his office to which he said yes and gave me the cost. Its scheduled for Saturday at which time i will be lightly sedated and have it removed....unlike the hospital where they don't sedate you or give you anything for the pain and just digup inside you to remove the stitches. Im relieved that my Dr will do it but im a bit fearful.

Did your doctor not talk with you at all about what to expect from the removal procedure? I haven't had this done, but I poked around a little on Google and there's information about what to expect from the insertion but the removal is discussed only briefly--which hopefully means that removal isn't a big deal. I bet if you call the office you can get someone to talk through the procedure on the phone with you and answer any questions you have.
