Any Baby Arrivals yet? - Page 3

@ash
Is there any way you can limit your contact with the outside world more? The constant opinions, ideas and suggestions are so hard. I have decided to stay inside until babe is born. Yesterday I left the house for the first time since Sunday. Normally I have to get out everyday but now it's really nice to just snuggle in at home

Today's my due date. Lost my mucus plug yesterday and started having contractions. Midwife came over and said I was 80% effaced and 4-5 cm dilated. Then labour slowed down and she left and I've had painful, but irregular contractions ever since. I'm so ready for this to be over. With my daughter my contractions never became regular and lasted 30 hours, but I thought things might be different/easier this time. I'm beginning to lose hope.

Today is my due date as well. No sign of baby so far. Going to head out for a long walk.

Sukhada, my first labor sounds similar to your first. I hope you catch a nice momentum soon with regular contractions and that you are holding your new babe before bedtime.

You can do it!!!  Trust in the process- you are exactly where you are meant to be right now.

Best wishes, Ladies! Sending you lots of good vibes.

My due date is today. But no sign of any sort of labor coming my way....I saw my midwife yesterday and all is well. I will get my first internal exam next Tuesday (if I make it) so that will be interesting. Then, they will do an ultrasound next Thursday if nothing has happened to make sure everything is OK. I just REALLY don't want to be induced. So I'm hope hope hoping everything happens on its own, but at the same time, trying to send positive vibes to my baby that he/she should take his/her time and come when ready! I'm getting a massage tomorrow and very much looking forward to it!

Baby Cyrus Rohan came this morning. I thought my labour had stalled because I was barely having any contractions. Then, for an hour I had them every 10-15 minutes as I tried to sleep. Suddenly felt the urge to push and my water broke. Midwives raced over as I jumped in the birth pool and tried not to push until they got there. Pushed him out in about 15 mins. I suddenly felt his head and reached down a grabbed him. He was 6 lbs and 14.5 ounces.

We welcomed our rainbow baby, Theo Hartley, 7 lbs 8 oz, in the wee morning hours yesterday. He was born naturally...47 hours after my water broke. He is our 4th child and it was my longest labor journey of all of them! Not what I had expected...thinking that his was going to be faster than the other 3! Will try to post his birth story soon. I haven't been too active on the message boards lately, but have been thinking of all of you February mamas-to-be and sending congrats to those that have welcomed their littles already!

What a beautiful boy Mama Sarah. Wishing you rest and a healthy recovery.

Thanks everyone! Early labour was still as long as my first, but active labour and pushing were much much faster and easier than My first.

Congrats mama Sarah.

Hope those still waiting have squishy newborns to hold soon!

Baby Phoebe was also born early morning on Feb 13. Are we being effected by the winter storm and coming full moon? smile.gif I had been having contractions on and off since Monday night but they were mostly mild and only 10-20 minutes apart, less than a minute long. My midwife came to stay with us just to be safe, since we were expecting severe winter weather. The days came and went and then Wednesday evening we lost power. We decided to stay with a friend but didn't unload our birth supplies because we really thought things would continue as they had been and we would be going home in the morning. Turns out, around 2:30am I woke up to go to the bathroom and when I went back to bed my contractions started to get really intense. Baby was born about an hour later! We barely got the birth supplies into the house. Thankful for an easy birth! My husband and I probably would have been on our own if there had been no ice storm, my midwife had over an hour drive and the contractions were not less than 10-12 minutes apart until 2:30! I'm also thankful for our sweet friends who opened their warm home!

Congrats to mamasarah and brittarey!

I think the babies in this DDC decided to avoid the first part of the month for some reason. Now they are coming thick and fast. :joy

I'm hoping our baby comes on or after his due date - on Saturday I injured my back (doing something stupid, of course) and started having such severe muscle spasms that I couldn't move without help.  DH had to leave work to take care of me, I was crying and writhing in pain.  I needed him around the clock for 3 nights, we hardly slept.  The in-laws came to help us, I felt awful having them see me in such a terrible state.  After an office visit I'm on some muscle relaxers and vicodin - while it's not the "drug free" plan I wanted, quite honestly it was the best thing for me since I had hardly eaten or slept in 4 days. Things are stable now, I'm just terrified that if these spasms come back during labor I know there's no way I could deal with that level of pain and an epidural would be mandatory for me to cope. On the bright side, this experience gave me insight into how I deal with pain, how my DH supports me through that pain, and how supportive my friends and family are. I'm surrendering to the things I can't control and coping the best I can with bed rest and a dirty house (my puffy feet thank me for that).  So if my back can recover for a few more days maybe I'll still get the kind of delivery I'm hoping for!

@cj that's awful. I hope you feel better enough soon. I too am hoping to wait until my dd or after though for the far less sad reason that my mom isn't coming for a couple more weeks.

Stay in babies stay in!

Admantha showed up Thursday morning, 8lbs1oz. She was born after a quick labor at home in the tub. Story to follow later.
