Want to talk about names?
Do you like Nameberry? Want to share your name ideas, what you do and don't like?
I found it easy and natural to choose names that just seemed perfect, for my first two, but my third, I was sure was a girl and had the perfect name, and he was a boy, after all, and DH and I just had the hardest time coming up with a name, it felt like we may as well have been hitting a dartboard.
This time, same thing. No names jump out at me. We've run out of good family names to use (we have more relatives we could honor, but their names are really, really terrible. Out of the question!) and we just have no ideas.
Maybe it will be something that comes to us later. But it's weird to be so ambivalent about it, when all my life growing up, I was so sure of what names I wanted to use for the children I hoped to have someday.
Looking forward to hearing about other people's name ideas, whether they find naming fun and easy, or daunting, and whether they memorialize someone, either a relative or an admired person.
