Has anybody tried this? It looks great for my first grader.
We are a couple chapters into the first volume (zoology), so I though I'd update. We really like it so far! It's definitely on the "lighter" side, but you can obviously go deeper into the less if your child is particularly interested and the manual provides lots of books to read along with the main volume, as well as activities, dictation and copy work, crafts, etc. It hasn't been anything particularly challenging yet, but certainly dd is definitely absorbing a lot from the stories and is interested in it. So far, the program covers science, obviously, but also handwriting since there is a good bit to write in the log book, plus geography, since the story travels all over the world, plus art if you are doing some of the craftier things.
Overall, I recommend it for younger kids and/or as a supplement to a more cohesive science program for older kids. The next volume is anatomy, and I will likely buy it when we are nearing the end of this one if she continues to enjoy it. I'll update again if anyone is interested :)
