Has anyone's morning sickness suddenly ceased?

I am a little worried! My last pregnancy was over 10 years ago. I remember being sick almost the entire pregnancy. Now, I'm almost 11 weeks and the morning sickness I was experiencing suddenly went away today. Is this normal??

Yup its normal.  I am 8 1/2 weeks and I am pretty much having no morning sickness.  I got it from 6-8 weeks and then it stopped.  Still some food adversions but not the mornings sickness.

Mine has come and gone several times already and I'm just 2 days shy of 8 weeks.  It was strong weeks 4-6, then gone all of a sudden, then back 1.5 weeks later... I've had it again the last couple days.  So weird.

I seem to have turned a corner as well, though I wish I could say I were feeling well... right now I am in the second day of a horrid headache, and still seem to have no energy. I was also stuffy and seemed to have a head cold, so it's hard to tell.. am I sick, or am I just not very healthy with this pregnancy? Hoping that this is an illness, and I'll be "well" in a short while. Now that the worst seems to be over for sickness, it's a shame to feel like I'm genuinely sick with a virus or something. Just hoping it goes away and I feel normal and healthy again, soon. I need to be functional.

Mine went away in the early to mid 11 week mark, but it comes back a couple times a day...a lot more manageable than it was, for sure! I'm not worried, I'm reveling in it and stuffing my face :yum

Mine seems to have taken a hiatus this week. I'll be 10 weeks on Sunday. I have had a few gagging episodes but mostly I think its because I've had more sinus drainage that usual and it just makes me gag.

I've given in to cravings this week for things like pizza, chicken salad wrap, sweet potato fries, grilled cheese, pizza and these are honestly not what I normally eat or would consider 'healthy' by our normal routine but they've been treating me right (only side effect sometimes is I get really full after and feel bloated) but yes I think I'm over the worst. I still occasionally worry but I'm trying to be happy about it!

@cricketschirpin- does the double "pizza" in your list have to do with how much of it you've eaten? :rotflmao

Every one and every pregnancy is different =) Some women get none at all. Some have it their entire pregnancy. I've heard a lot on this board of women having a miserable week followed by a perfect day or two. As long as you aren't cramping/spotting/bleeding or having severe symptoms, don't stress about it. It's all a variance of normal! =)

I did the same thing, apparently. Thought I was over it for a couple of days, then it came back, but instead of all day, it's the morning but limited only to finding smells nauseating while I eat my toast, and got a bad case of evening sickness last night, complete with excessive salivation.

But yes, it changed. At least it's not "all the time" now.

Same here... the way I ate before pregnancy, I just couldn't do once the sickness and cravings hit. I've eaten pizza, lunchmeat sandwiches, Subway, grilled ham and cheese, cheesetoast, anything cheese, and french fries lately, and like you, they made me feel better, but also bloated. But once I was overly full and bloated, I wasn't sick! So it was like, I'd rather be stuffed full of chile rellenos and tamales and bloated, but happy, than hanging my head over a bucket and groaning.

@fragolina HAHAHAHA! I did write pizza twice, yowsa!

Stomach is still pretty decent. I made chicken tacos last night and didn't mind any smells. Even had raw onions as a topper. Only actual symptom last couple days is lower back aching and mild cramping. Which still worries me slightly but I'm trying to assume its my uterus stretching out. I am making lasagna tonight so if that all goes well then I'm going to think I'm out of the darkest of m/s woods!

After about a week and a half/two weeks of mild nausea and no vomiting, I had an olfactory assault (dog poop...lots of it) this morning and visited the old porcelain throne. A caution to myself to not get TOO comfortable lol
post #13 of 21

Mine stopped at 10w2d but then came back at 12w5d but it's milder.  I had sched doc appts with u/s, Mat21 etc. in the middle of the 11th week so I know that all was fine and good.  Maybe the 10-ish week shift has to do with the placenta starting to do some of the hormone production.

Hmm this is interesting maybe thats what's going on right now in my body. So this is roughly the time that the placenta starts to produce hormones etc.? When does the noodle actually start getting the nutrients from the placenta? When I was at the doctors a couple weeks back I had mentioned concern for not eating well and baby not getting enough of what it needs. She said well in first trimester its getting it from your reserves and blood rather than placenta yet.

I believe the placenta starts to function at 10ish weeks and is fully functional around the end of 12 weeks.  I don't understand your doc's comment though - the placenta still has to pull the nutrients from you in order to make the hormones, etc. as needed for baby.  She must've been referring to the fact that the baby doesn't take that much in the way of nutrients at that point... it's fairly minimal until the developmental stage is complete.  Once that happens, the growth phase kicks in and I'm betting that's when we'll all feel ravenous 24/7.  :eat

I would like mine to let up greensad.gif I'm still pretty miserable most of the day... Not throwing up per say but nauseous and EXAHUSTED!

Awww delighted! Here's hoping in a couple weeks you get major relief and that it goes by fast!

I was actually exhausted yesterday. Tired this morning but feeling a little more like myself today. It really does come and go in little spurts. I imagine when I'm feeling my worst that growth is happening. That brings me a small bit of solace.

After two days of hideous nausea, today has finally been better...and I've been ravenous! A protein shake, blackberries and blueberries, granola bar, sushi summer rolls, pita chips with corn salsa, a frosty...and that's just breakfast and lunch! I don't know how I'll ever make enough food to eat for a whole week!

fragolina - I think you have one of the most varied diets imaginable.  Wow.

I'm in food no-man's-land.  I want to eat, my stomach is rumbling, but everything tastes sub-par.  I can manage a bite or two, but that's it.  Somehow I am very tempted by your mention of a frosty.  I do have B&J Choc Fudge Brownie in the freezer.  May have to investigate.

I had a bit of energy today!!!! I started taking iron yesterday, but it shouldn't kick in quite that fast... I was expecting it to help by the end of the week!

But all I have eaten today is Almonds and a smoothie and some OJ... I am LOVING the OJ!!!! Yum!
