Lightswitch, squats, prenatals, etc. reminder!

I know I can't be the only one who forgets these things, but somehow I never forget to check in here during my day. You guys must be more fun. So I figured I'd start a thread, and once you've taken care of your stuff, post to bump it up (or not), and then we'll all have reminders. If there's something you want me to add to the thread title, let me know and I'll do that if I can. Can I?

Hahaha!!!  What a great (and funny) idea.  Speaking of which... I'm going to go take my prenatal now.  lol.

I think the easiest way to remember these things is to make them part of your routine..and make sure to tie it to something you already do every day. I would put a check list somewhere (in the kitchen!) if you need to to help you remember until it's just second nature for you.

 Here is mine:

1. I do 2 light switches before I get out of bed in the morning

2. I take my supplements with breakfast in the morning (2 multi-vitamins, FCLO, apple cider vinegar, magnesium calm, gelatin, garlic pill, probiotic)

3. I take two more multi-vitamins with my lunch, and hopefully get my Zumba in

4. Afternoon snack is iron time..so i take my iron supplement with my liver and my snack is usually a piece of fruit high in Vit C

5. Work is done, time to do chores.. I put on my pregnancy affirmations

6. Dinner, last two multi

7. Post-dinner workout. This can include zumba/lifting/Yoga, 1 more light switch

8. around 10pm I do my hypnosis track.. either the one DH has to read to me or the Deepening, including 2 light switches

9. Last check before bed is my last round of suppelments (magnesium calm, apple cider vinegar, gelatin, and garlic pills)

The pregnancy affirmations and the exercise are the only ones that I sometimes miss (I have my fitness thread to help me keep motivated there)..Also weekends can really throw a wrench in things as the routine is not the same and I'm more likely to not get in the middle of the day stuff.

I take apple cider vinegar, garlic pills, and probiotic to help with my gut flora and prevent Group B Strep

I take magnesium calm for constipation and stress relief

I take gelatin to help with skin stretching and prevent stretch marks (after a week of this I have not been itchy anymore). It's pure protein and I wouldnt take it if I could get in more bone broth..but such is life.

Liver is for my iron but also other great nutritions including Vit D

FCLO I take for the DHA/Vit A/Vit D and general health much like my multi

Here are some reasons for why my routine is the way it is.

Multi's should always be taken with a meal as there are some fat soluble vitamins in there. You also want to spread them out as your body can only absorb so much at once (unless you have slow release tablets). Iron and Magnesium should not be taken with calcuim as it impacts absorption. Iron should be taken with Vit C to help with absorption.

It's also always good to exercise after a meal to help with blood sugar regulation and help prevent GD.

Anyway hope that was helpful!

The only way I remember to take my pre-natals is to set an alarm on my phone! You'd think that since I'm doing it twice a day everyday I would just remember, but that is not so. Everyday my alarm goes off at 8am & 7pm & at this point whoever hears it yells "vitamins!"
The lightswitches I am failing at, but I remember everything else in my home play!

It's a technique we have to practice everyday that is used in hypnobabies. It allows you to put yourself in self-hypnosis.

When I read your post I'm taken back to the days before kids. It sounds so peaceful... But alas, lightswitches generally don't happen in the morning because of a certain toddler who always wakes up cranky and in need of immediate soothing. There are a few times when I could probably make things a bigger part of my routine though. I will see what I can do. For the most part I just keep everything out on the counter, so every time I walk by I see it. My physical therapy list is hanging on the wall so I remember it daily too. Although my toddler ran off with my tennis ball, so I haven't done it in a few days and I'm starting to get tight again. It's been one of those weeks apparently, but hopefully next week there will be no vomit, diarrhea, or random spots that look like chicken pox, but are not actually chicken pox, or strep.

How about right after your toddler goes down for a nap? Or right after your little goes to sleep for the night.. if you work when you arrive, on your lunch break or before you leave.

I actually do my hypnobabies when she goes down for a nap on the days when no one else is at home. On days when others are home, it's all kinda up in the air. After I get the kids to bed is my time to spend with my dh. I don't work outside the home anymore, so I'm afraid I don't have a horrid commute to do my affirmations during anymore either. Luckily, I've still got time to make it all habit again. I'm really not a busy person, but I just don't have a life where I can have a lot of routine because my days are so different.

Great thread! I'd say I forget to take my vitamins 1/3 of the time- and I've been meaning to start doing kegels and squats since the beginning of this pregnancy. Still hasn't happened.....When I was pregnant with DS (he was our first) I had so much time to exercise, meditate, reflect on the pregnancy, etc., and now, I'm usually so busy that I actually forget that I'm pregnant (catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror or feeling a kick always reminds me wink1.gif. I've set an alarm on my phone to remind me to take my vitamins- and this thread will hopefully help me do some quick exercises everyday.

I have been fantasizing about doing squats for a few weeks now. I've always had a smaller rear and love that some of the baby weight fills me out down there :) If only there were more hours in the day! DS has his science fair project this week, so looks like I won't have any Mommy time until next week.

My physical therapist told me to spend equal time squatting as I do using the bathroom everyday. So now, after I take of business, I do a few nice deep squats. She recommends doing them while holding onto the sink, but mine would fall over, so I hold onto the door knob instead.
