Was I paranoid?

My next door neighbor is having construction done and the man she has doing it has been working there about a week. Today we were out front, and ds, 3 1/2 went over to the fence to talk to him and another man helping him today. We all had a nice chat about ds being a boy, he has long hair but both these guys had ponytails...

Then the man took a polaroid picture of ds. We kept chatting and then we went in the house so these guys could work. I started to think about his taking this picture...so I went out and said, "I don't mean to be paranoid but when you took my son's picture..." He hopped up and said it was ready and that he was trying out a new camera. It was new, out of the box and all. He gave me the picture and I said thanks and went inside.
He wanted to photograph the work he's doing.

So was I paranoid about getting my hands on this picture? I just didn't know these fellas and what they do in their spare time and ds is often mistaken for a girl because he is beautiful and this guy knows where we live and I DON'T know him...

Am I a too careful?

He is YOUR SON!!

You CANNOT be 'too careful'.

It would have freaked me out too, but I think you handled it pretty well!

No way! I would've done the same thing. You never can be too sure. It's not worth the risk. I'm glad it turned out to be innocent.

Nope! Great idea to follow through on that! I would be concerned as well.

Thanks!

I am just glad he didn't use a digital camera! Then I would have had to explain myself further...

Oh yeah, that would have freaked me too! My insides fluttered just reading about it. Good way to handle it!

You did the right thing. I would have been freaked out too. Too many sickos out there. All of them usually you wouldn't suspect them to be sickos. They don't look deranged but their minds are. You can never be tooo carefeul. Really, you did the right thing!!!! He probly wasn't and respected that fact that you wanted the picture and thats why he gave it back to you no problem. Anyone that wasn't deranged would have respected you were concerned.
