This is a support thread to help you not spend your money.
Everyone is welcome to join and you can start tracking your spending at any time. It doesn't have to be (insert appropriate date here) NOW is a good time to start.
The plan is simple (although tough to execute):
1. Vow not to spend any money on unnecessary purchases.
2. Come on here and record your spending. We all record our spending in different ways. There are no rules. You record and update however you would like -- pick a way that will help you spend the least amount of money.

Please write an introductory message when you decide to join our thread. We would like to know:
a. Who you are
b. Where you are going (your financial goals) and
c. How you plan to get there
Good luck MDCers!! Keep that money in your wallet.
My name (ironically) is Prudence but I'm a shopaholic. Love new clothes. Love to spend spend spend. But I'm working on curbing this habit and living a more mindful financial life. My DH is a teacher. 'nuf said. The money is not showering down in our lives.
b. Where you are going (your financial goals)
We're out of debt (thank you, Dave Ramsey) and we have no major pressing financial concerns...but we get by every month and I'd like a bigger safety cushion in the bank. No more "getting by." I want to reduce our expenses so we are living on HALF of what we earn each month. Yes, half.
c. How you plan to get there
Decluttering. when I go through our closets and our (okay...my) clothes I get a little ill. We have so much of everything. More than I can manage. Why do I want to spend more money and add MORE things to this mess? Decluttering curbs the spending itch. And coming on here. I want to get a nice long list of smiley faces because I didn't spend this month.
No spend today! Which is great since the past 2 weeks has been horrible!! Hopefully I can finish this month out strong with more no spend and budget spend days.
Only a couple of snacks for the girls, under $5. I avoided spending anything on myself, and only went to gymnastics and back, so I counted that as a frugal day. Can't be too strict.
I'm a wife of DH for 10 years next month and a mother of 4 children so far in the US, almost 30.
b. Where you are going (your financial goals) and
DH gives me an "allowance" each month. I hope to stop spending all of it except when necessary and have a little in my wallet at the end of the month to combine with next month.
c. How you plan to get there
I will continue to write down my plans for my money in my journal and think and pray more before spending.
Spent a lot recently on easter, car repair, LIBRARY FINES, restaurants, children's museum. The greenie face came from the library fines more than anything, 20.00 for the family and I got off cheap this time.
