New to list - November mom to be

I'm looking to connect with some other moms-to-be. I am 11+ weeks prego with #3. I have yet to tell anyone accept my dh. At first I was too worried because of miscarriage and I was getting over the shock of being prego at 39 with a 10 yr old and 7 1/2 year old! Now that it is sinking in I"m excited but still do not want to share my news with family or friends - I like keeping it to myself.

Anyone else out there with a late in life pregnancy? I will be having an amnio and that too makes me a bit scared. I've tried to say a prayer and "let it go" but I haven't reached that point yet. I have one angel story in my life that I could relate to this pregnancy - in a very positive way - and I hold onto that when I start to feel too scared.

Thanks for listening. Feels good to "talk."

Welcome! I'm pregnant with a surprise third baby, too. It's been an emotional rollercoster.

Hey there:

I'm 38 years old with this baby...when he/she is born I will be the mother of an adult and a newborn at the same time. It's freaky knowing I could be a grandmother. (knocking on everything I can think of that won't happen until after college)..It's been a struggle with energy levels at times with having babies later, but I'm smarter all around and feel more confident in my ability to mother..after all..I got one to adulthood!! (almost..Oct 30th is her birthday).

Anyway, welcome!

Hi and welcome.. I'm 11 weeks and one day, 35 years old with my first. Not a surprise but an intentional prayer come true (and a decent insemination with some good swimmers!) I just started telling people this week (beside a few close friends and family who I told right away.) I couldn't wait anymore, we felt too isolated with the news (probably because it's my first, everything is so new, half the time I don't even know whats going in my body!!) It feels good now to share the news. No big announcement, just letting it trickle out here and there. This is a great forum. As a first-timer, it's so helpful for me to hear form those with more experience.
I decided not to do the AFP or amnio. It does seem scary, but if it will put you rmind at ease in some way, then do what will make ou happiest. There are some good discussion on this site about the pros and cons, various reasons why some choose it some don't...
good luck!
