other than hummus...what do you do w/ tahini?

Salad dressing!

Lemon-Tahini is excellent. My cookbooks are packed (I move Monday!!) but I'll bet you could find a good one online. Just lemon juice and tahini seasoned with garlic, salt, pepper -- maybe some ginger and soy. Thin it with a little oil if you like.

I have a recipe for a sandwich made with mixing Tahini and Miso, but I use it to make a goddess dressing. There are also a couple recipes in WHOLE Foods For The Whole Family for sauces for pasta. Id be happy to post recipes if youre interested.

Its a great source of calcium (sesame seeds). I just bought a jar of it to make hummis this weekend.

I add tahini to my 11 month old's yogurt and he loves it! I also plan on using it in his sandwiches. It is a highs source of iron and protien so it can be really good for kids.

Baba ganoush is a middle eastern eggplant-tahini dip (sometimes spelled baba ganouj). I posted a recipe for it previously on this thread eggplant recipes

I love tahini in salad dressing!

I also make buckwheat noodles and dress them with tahini, tamari, and chives or scallions. Sometimes with cubes of tofu in it sometimes not. I serve them room temperature.

I make pudding with tahini. Make a basic friut kanten (fruit juice, agar flakes) let it jell and then puree with a few spoonfuls of tahini for a creamy pudding. Apple juice works best for this.

I have used it as a basic creamer for soups, and as a dairy replacer for baking, smoothies and ice cream (not for people who object to the sesame flavor). I also used to mix it with honey and spread it on apples. We called it "tahoney" ha ha!

I love the stuff but sadly DD is allergic so we don't eat it anymore.
