Bedwetter Pants?

I am going to get my son some bedwetter pants and have decided to get either the Motherease or Nikky. Has anyone tried both? Is one better than the other? My son does not want to wear anything resembling a diaper/cover and I do not want anything that has to be stuffed so these seem to be my best bet. Opinions?

I heard that the nikkies are not so durable, so I got the MEs -they are very very durable but take a while to dry. I'd recommend them for those reasons, but they are not so pretty so if that matters you might want to consider toddling tots.

I recently converted a momma to cloth. She liked the fact that ME held its resale value so well and went with ME dipes. After trying them, she was hooked on cloth and converted her older son to the ME Bedwetters and loves them.

She did complain of leaks after the first couple of uses, but I reminded her that I had told her to wash ME products many times before use. After several more washes she has had no leaks!

I haven't tried Nikky's, but I've tried ME's and love them. I wish I had a couple more of them, but they are a bit pricey for a kiddo who never gets up to go potty in the night (might as well use diapers on her since she doesn't care).

Yes, they are pricey. But I guess I will being going through this stage a couple more times so I should get good use out of them. I just bought 2 but I will probably get a couple more assuming I like them and he agrees to wear them. Thanks again!

Wow, very interesting to come across this thread! I'm just learning of the existence of "bedwetter pants"! Had never heard of them. Although I'm an MDCer, I only learned of this thread by doing a google search on bedwetter pants. I wish someone would pop up with Nikky Bedwetter experience, as I"m thinking of buying some. To me the MEBWs look like diapers, but the Nikky's don't. I'm just going by pictures though, and haven't seen either in person.

amoreenasmom: the ME are pretty bulky, but man, they work for us. I think I had nikkys when we first started the journey of looking for "nighttime panties," as we call them here . But as with our early diapering experience, I did something to mess up the waterproofing. (first dipes we bought were Nikky premies and they lasted only a few weeks; I'm a hazard in the laundry room!)

We have been using the MEs for a few years now, and honestly have had no leaks. I have just moved her up a size, and she's now 7 (but a slim and small 7). Still, I think 3 years of frequent use is a good sign of quality!!

Would love to learn of pretty/slimmer models, since we are approaching sleepover age, but for now she doesn't REALLY mind...and she's been dry 3 nights in a row, anyway!!

I've heard good things about Mother of Eden Overnight Undies, but I haven't seen them. I have 2 pairs of Toddling Tots which are really nicely made by a WAHM but can't go in the dryer (they are over a year old so she may have changed that).

Try searching, I know this is one of those topics that comes up pretty often and other people have good leads for you.

This is somewhat OT, but I have 2 in diaper/undies-at-night and sometimes wish I had just let them go to bed naked and pee in their beds until they figured it out. This sounds callous (and messy) but it was recommended by a mother of 5, it worked for her, and I feel like we are making no progress at all towards getting dry at night, maybe because they are too darn comfy!

I really like the Mother of Eden Overnight Undies and they work wonderful. No problems here with a little boy who is a very heavy wetter.

I sorta kwym, in a way, although I guess what I really wish is that I'd done things with our first the way we've done them with our second. I just didn't know then what I know now. Our boys are 5yo and 2yo, and it's just wild the difference. Ds2 is 25m and is done with diapers, sleeps naked (in bed with us) at night and for naps, and wears regular underwear, nevermind training pants. But here we are searching for "nighttime underwear" for our first. Though I've got to say, and maybe it's turning 5 or maybe it's that I've made this decision to find something other than the high-maintenance nighttime dipes we've been using, but 5yo has been dry in the mornings for the last 10 days or so! His longest time EVER to not pee at night. Maybe I don't actually need to buy anything! I think I'm still going to though. I'm really leaning toward the Nikky's because of the way they look...I think they'll feel and seem more like underwear for ds1.

Nikky's

well we got our nikky's, a set of 2 that i bought on ebay. they're beautiful and seem in great condition, but ds wore one last night and the bed was soaked this morning.

granted, he slept until noon, and we're all under stress because we're moving this weekend and trying to get ready. but still, i'm just so disappointed. i'm hoping it's just the late sleeping and the family stress, but i guess i have to admit i'm not too optimistic that these are going to work, after this soaking. and the really disgruntling part is that ds wasn't even aware he was in a huge wet area in the bed, was surprised when i mentioned it.

<huge sigh>

You might want to try waking him up during the night - especially if things are changing. If there is stress, then he may be sleeping more deeply than normal, so don't give up right away!
