TEHRAN (Reuters) - Is Iran about to be invaded by little green men or are the Americans racing through the night sky in spaceships to spy on the Islamic Republic?



Flying saucer fever has gripped Iran after dozens of sightings in the last few days. Fanciful cartoons of alien spacecraft have adorned the front pages.


State television on Wednesday showed a sparkling white disc it said was filmed over Tehran on Tuesday night.


More colorful Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) have been spotted beaming out green, red, blue and purple rays over the northern cities of Tabriz and Ardebil and in the Caspian Sea province of Golestan, the official IRNA news agency reported.


Newspapers and agencies reported people rushing out into the streets in eight towns on Tuesday night to watch a bright extraterrestrial light dipping in and out of the clouds.

Okay, okay, I entirely take back my post. Was just being a wise-acre because of the several threads bringing up Zionist conspiracies. And also being ironic, having just read about the Saudi crown prince on the one hand saying that yesterday's shooting of Western workers in Saudi Arabia was the work of Al Qaeda, and at the same time the work of Zionists. Boy, wouldn't Al Qaeda be bummed to know that.

In this lost world, people are seeking fulfillment in all sorts of ways............ from religion to self-help books, from materialism to the stars, temporary fulfillment is provided. While I believe that only Jesus Christ can provide true fulfillment, countless others don’t.

I worked on a project where I had to comb through tons of footage of the UFOs that flew over Mexico City about 15 years ago. Millions of people saw them and it was all over the news. Oodles and Oodles cameras on them.

My own thought is that I feel a lot of Mexico City is very solid in their belief that Jesus Christ is their savior prior to UFOs and after... Know what I mean?

oh, one other small note...in a similiar project a few years prior to the Mexico City sighting, I dealt with a woman and her friend and grandchild who saw UFOs. They were in the bible belt of Texas and they were very, very, very religious and when she went under hypnosis to describe what she saw she immediately said, "Look, Betty, there's Jesus."

I thought that was such a curious response to this thing that later gave her radiation burns all over her body. Not my opinion of Jesus...but I think that lines up with your bible quote, NM about false Jesuses.

Did Paul see ETs? Because he is the one in the Bible talking about the common 1st century Hellenistic belief in archons and aeons (commonly and loosely trans as rulers, authorities, powers or principalities). This was a Greek pagan idea, not Jewish, BTW.

Gnostic texts have much more detail about this class of beings. Read The Hypostasis of the Archons for much more than contained in Paul. Hint: no flying saucers. Another hint: YHWH, called Ialdabaoth, is one of them. I am not making this up. Read on:

NM, I only addressed my first paragraph to you. The rest of my comments were to the readers of this thread in general. Some of them do have an interest in non-canonical Xtian texts, so I thought it was relevant to the discussion.

Of course I did not ask for your sources to debate-"negate or invalidate"-your opinions. I myself am in the habit of citing sources as a courtesy to readers who may want more info on a subject. I assumed you were reading your relevant quotes from a book or website, since you had so many Bible pericopes at the ready you thought "proved" the equation of ETs=demons/angels. But perhaps you have them all memorized.

I remember that von Daniken (sp) book, Chariots of the Gods? for example. Didn't he think the throne Ezekiel had a vision of was a UFO? Aliens built the pyramids?

to be honest, I believe that abduction stories are totally unrelated to ufo sightings!
I think that when people have vague memories of aliens, little green (or whatever color) men with big eyes, they are actually remembering doctors in surgical masks at their birth and all the horrors that go along with being born in a hospital.
The ufos are (again, in my opinion) probably the same ones depicted in the ancient texts, we interpret things we don't understand in terms of our own experience. Perhaps the angels, that race created before humans, are flying them. And that they are here to help us understand spiritual things. I don't know. Maybe they are really from Earth, either super top secret goings on, or maybe even from the future.
