Rev Jan's No-Sew ring sling in action! (m)

I got some large nylon sling rings and made this sling with a tapestry. it took all of 3 minutes at the most and is so cool!! Here's the pattern:

Anyone could do this with just about any long piece of fabric you have laying around. So cool!

When you say "tapestry" I think of thick upolstry type fabric and I know this is not what you have but more like a cotton batik type of fabric??

This is one of those Celtic tapestries you can get at pagan stores and Urban Outfitters. I got it off ebay. I plan to use it for a bedspread. I already have one that I use as a bedspread and I love it in the summer time.

And yes, that tail is great for hiding the preggo belly, just wish it'd hide my big fat rear-end!!

Very cool! You know, I was wondering if the Solarveil sunsheets would be long enough to do that.

Their catalog says it's 60" by 36", which I think will be too short for all but the very smallest of people, as that's only 5 feet long, and the shortest slings I've seen for sale are 72" or 6 feet long. You could experiment with threading it on the diagonal, but I'm not sure how secure that would be, or how that would affect adjusting the sling.

The larger aluminum rings from slingrings.com would probably be best if it's something like the tapestries Jan and Kristen used. The thinner or slipperier the fabric, the smaller the rings you need to use.
