i may be having a miscarriage

Well, today was my second OB appointment. I saw her last week, and we did a blood beta-HCG test and a transvaginal ultrasound. This week, she repeated the ultrasound and was not happy with what she saw. Said things don't look right... the gestational sac was more triangular shaped, rather than round...and there was no yolk sac present...so she's sending me to see a radiologist who specializes in obstetrics next week. She also drew more blood to test my bHCG (at this stage, it should be doubling.) My Dad's a radiologist, so I scanned in the pic for him... and he agrees that things don't look completely normal...but we'll have to wait and see. I'm really sad, worried, confused, etc. I'll know more next week... but please send up any prayers that you can.

Oh...sending you hugs and prayers. I'm sure waiting is so hard. Hope you have good support around you - and hope we hear good news once you learn more. Good luck, and blessings.

Thanks Everybody

It's the waiting that's so difficult. My appointment with the radiologist is not until next Friday at 6:30 p.m.--I think I'll go crazy if I have to wait that long. I'm going to call his office on Monday and see if there's anything earlier... say on Wednesday.

Having watched ER this week, I can say I'd much rather lose the baby now if something is wrong than have it happen later in the pregnancy. That episode was totally heartbreaking.

thinking of you

Try to hang in there. I know the waiting is hard. If i were you I would definatly try to get seen sooner. It think it is just cruel to ask a women going through something like this to wait that long.

Well, it's offical... no more baby. Had the ultrasound today and there was just a little blob of tissue... no further development. My new BHCG numbers were high...around 11,000.... so I was hopeful... but nothing. Now I need to see if they're going to let me miscarry naturally or if I have to have a D&C.

Here's wishing all of you Mamas healthy, happy babies.
