so what is the best part of being pregnant?

for me i think it is the cravings, no other time does the world come to a stop and everyone around me do all they can to get me my craving

People ask "how are you" and they really mean it, as in "how ARE you?" Dh does more around the house, changes the litterbox, puts me to bed early. Almost any outburst or obsession is forgiven because of changing hormones!

When I complain I didn't get my list of chores done, DH says "but you worked so hard all week, you needed to rest!" and DH also will get up in the middle of the night if I need something! Everyone insists I not lift anything, which means I can't carry the laundry basket up the stairs.

The best part of being pregnant so far...

Is really the quiet, joyful excitement bubbling up from deep inside me when I think about the fact that by Christmas, I'll be holding a wee sweet babe in my arms.

Also-

The FUN of knowing that you are expecting, but nobody else around you knowing. I'm loving the normalacy of this little miracle;

Contemplating different names;

Poking my belly to see if I can feel my uterus yet;

Imagining the suspense of the last few days and minutes of being pregnant....

I know there are more, but that's good for now!

for me, it's everyone's kind words and genuine happiness about our baby. It makes me cry sometimes (yeah, I'm the "crying pregnant" type)

I love that the people who DO know are taking extra care of me and not making a big deal of it when I sit things out.

I love that Hub is totally doing all of my work and not making a big deal of how much I sleep or eat.

I love that I get to eat anything I want (although for the most part I am really keeping it healthy).

I love that a little soul would choose us to be its parents, and that I would have the honour of being its momma.

I love the thought of holding a baby in my arms again and of nusring a baby.

I love the anticipation of nursing another baby!! I can't wait for that! I also love poking my belly to see if I can feel the uterus. And thinking of names...and the anticipation of feeling the baby move inside me!!!

yes, yes... count me in on the poking of the uterus! Every night and every morning I just have to do it! Can anyone feel theirs yet? I thought i felt it the other morning, but I haven't felt it since...must have been gas! I thought i could feel it by now with first preg. (maybe i was just skinnier).

I loved thinking of names for dd, but i think this one is a boy, and I just don't like most boy names. Maybe i'll name him Bob.

I love how happy my family is this time! (well, except my grandma). Last time, they were all "i'm too young to be a grandparent!" (hello dad, your 50!), "your too young to have a kid!" (i was 21!) and "but your not married!"
this time, still not married, they are so genuinely happy. It is a relief, i was not looking forward to telling them.
i also love how my partner (the hard ass) has mellowed out and isn't giving me as much sh*t as he usually does. I love him, but he is a total pain in the ass sometimes!

*dd just fell asleep on my lap! She woke up at 7 his morning! Great now i get to stay and play!

i don't think the pregnancy will be very real to me until i start to show, Right now i feel like i should wear a shirt that says "Sorry! I'm pregnant!" (are the hormones making me bitchy or do i think i'm being bitchy b/c of the hormones!?!) :nana:

The best thing for me is just knowing it's in there living it's little exsitence. Everyday that passes I am feeling more relaxed and hopeful. I hate a lot about this but I am glad to be the one who gets to be the portable nest.

It has got to be DH not expecting ANYTHING of me. That is nice...

Later, it will be feeling movements. That was my favorite part of the other two pregnancies.

Yes, yes I can I measured myself this evening and i measured 14 cm, but I am only about 11 weeks along. Looks like another wopper in the making :LOL But THIS time I will not be convinced I might be having twins JUST because I am measuring large (so there )

My partner's behavior is definitely the best part! I was worried because for a long time he didn't think having kids was a particularly great idea, and then I'd convinced him but he was still kind of indifferent-seeming, but after 19 months of TTC he apparently got into it! He has been so attentive, kind, and good at reminding me of the things I know I should do but feel guilty about being so self-indulgent--he reminds me that it's not just me anymore! He made me a beautiful necklace for Mother's Day that depicts the way he is seeing me and the baby now: an encircling of something bright and sparkling. I catch him looking at me with joy and wonder, even in the most ordinary moments. It's just wonderful!!!

His 'guardian' attitude, his overflowing enthusiasm, his desire to touch me and be part of the pregnancy...

.....it all just makes me soooooooooooo happy!
