pul ? would this work?

My friend wants me to make her some pul covers - I've never sewed with pul (don't much care for it myself) and was wondering if this would work: I was thinking of using an outer layer of pul and an inner layer of microfleece (for softness up again the skin where the cover comes over the top of the dipe). I was hoping to use lastin and then serge the two layers with 100%polyester maxi-lock and wooly nylon. Would that work and not wick? Any suggestions would be much appreciated (just note I'm not a big fan of T&T ). Thanks!

I don't know if it would work... Seems like it should. I mean, it is all poly, nothing to absorb.

I think that should be fine.... just make sure to wash and dry on HOT to seal that PUL after finishing the diaper

I think it will. I just made a very baby snug wrap - outer layer a cotton polyester knit, middle layer PUL and inner layer fleece, bound with foldover elastic. I had to unpick it all once, and my sewing machine was playing up so I got knots and had to keep restarting. All those needle holes! But it works fine.

I was just going to ask just about the same question. Can I add one more? I want to make the same thing (I'm assuming that the OP is talking pocket dipes) w/o FOE - it leaves marks on DD's legs - can I just sandwich some elastic and serge the whole thing? Is that what the OP actually asked?

That was basically what I was going to do. I was going to use the elastic stitch for the lastin (I want to stitch that to the outside pul layer) and then serge it all together. Once OSDS reopens, I'm going to order some pul. I'll let you all know how it comes out.

I actually don't bind mine -- I zig-zag (faux serge) them & make casings for the elastic -- I've had no problems with them (other than normal PUL sweating ).

I use a stretch stitch for the elastic and serge the edges

Could anyone post some pics? I just can't picture this. TIA!

Here's a pic of one I made recently, the outer layer is a laminated jersey print. I used lastin between the 2 layers and overlocked it with maxi lock. http://67.18.25.209/patterndocs/overlocked2.jpg
