I have a friend who wants to do this, can anyone give me any links or names of books she can check out?

Thanks!

I think www.kellymom.com may have a page of links on adoptive breastfeeding. I can't get it to come up right now or I would post it for you.

Here are some websites to get started with:

http://www.fourfriends.com/abrw/ From what I can tell this is the leading resource out there, so she should start here.

http://www.lalecheleague.org/NB/NBadoptive.html

http://breast-feeding.adoption.com/

If you do a google search on adoptive breastfeeding you'll come up with a lot more links. There are a lot of support forums out there, too, including at least one Yahoo group: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group...breastfeeding/

Your friend may want domperidone to help induce/boost lactation, which she can order from www.globaldrug.tv .

I think there are books on adoptive breastfeeding as well, like Breastfeeding the Adopted Baby by Debra Peterson, although it doesn't get great reviews on Amazon.

HTH! Best of luck to your friend.
