I'm not quite as much as you ,but wanted to join in. Ive been bfing for 27 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAH for me and my ds!!! I figure I will be bfing for at least 8-9 years.....omg!!! Well, I bet I get pregnant before he weans, and just keep going ( and either tandem if he doesnt wean during pregnancy), and then that would be another couple years and then another one, and if we stop at 3 kids well then that one would self wean anywhere between 4-5 years I suppose so that would be around 9 years, give or take a few!!!!

I nursed for 20 months, and just wanted to add: Good job, mamas!

I was just reading a study that said that every child you give birth to lowers your breast cancer risk by 7%, and every 12 months spent breastfeeding lowers your risk an additional 4%. Some of you probably have negative risk!

I've been nursing continuously for amost 5.5 years. Only 18 months of that time was spent nursing one child. I've spent over 18 months nursing while pregnant, a total of 2.5 years tandem nursing and 1.5 years triandem nursing. My oldest self-weaned on his fifth birthday and I'm currently tandem nursing my almost-4 year old and my almost-2 year old. That's 11 years of nursing packed into 5.5 years!

Wow! Some of you should earn medals!!

I'm at about 4.7 yrs, but since we're no where near finished, I bed I could make 10 yrs total! LOL!

Almost 3 yrs. I work with a guy who has 9 kids, and his wife has been nursing at least one child for the last 19 years!

I began nursing on September 4, 2000 and have only had a 2 month lapse since then. So, I've been nursing around 3 1/2 years.

Started November 14,2001 and still going! I guess that makes it 30 months. My dd is showing absolutely no signs of weaning at all!!!! Sometimes I wonder if I will have to get involved with the weaning process but thats usually when I am tired and depleted. Not to often maybe once every 6 weeks or so. I am getting pressure from all angles to wean her except from dh. I just am not talking about it anymore and sadly limiting feeding when with certain people to avoid conflict. So far so good but I can see that I am going to have to tell a few people to MTOB soon

Congrats to all you great Mamas!!!!!

This is soooo cool! So, I'm not the only mama who will have been nursing one kid or another most of my adult life!!!!! I love nursing. There is nothing quite as sweet and wonderful as a child at your breast. My favorite time is when they reach up a touch your face. So much love between a mama and a nurseling!

32 months and counting. My dd weaned at 20 months, earlier than I expected but I was pregnant again and working. My ds is 12 months and still going very strong. I am quite sure he'll go longer than dd before weaning.

I'm hoping to have a third and maybe even someday a fourth (gotta get dh on board though) so I can see myself hitting somewhere between 5-10 years of breastfeeding total.

I have been pregnant and/or nursing for four years now.

Well, looks like I am still the newbie in this crowd. 21 months and counting for me. I hope to be able to say 10+ years like many or you. What a wonderful gift to our children! I was told by my dermatologist that I needed to have a cyst removed. He said I could do it whenever I finished bf. I told him that was not resonable as that could be 10+ years from now. The nurse in the room laughed out loud. I then preceded to say I was serious, and we decided I will have it removed with a local in a few months. Sorry, just had to add that in there. It warms my heart to see moms nursing for so many years in a row!
