I think I want to see it - just to see the snow in NY scene. Apparently it has a heavy political message. Don't ask me what

I saw a preview of sorts on that movie right before the results show os AI this week. I thought it looked really scary. Being from NY I get a little freaked out when I think about stuff like that possilby happening. When I saw Jurassic Park I actually was completely freaked out that some day scientists could make that happen. And with all the wacky weather happenings, well thinking of that happening freaks me out too, I think I actually want to see this one, and usually I wouldn't

Well, I think the movie makes a point about global warming playing a part in causing the cataclysm. The movie is put out by Fox, and Fox is a conservative network, so they are taking some criticism.

My husband wants to see it, but those kinds of special effects really bother me since I have an abnormal fear of water, so I'm not sure what we'll do. We watched the 10 minute thing on Fox the other night.

He read some stuff that said that some of the science is accurate, although the things in the movie happen much too quickly and it would take a long time for this to occur. According to that book A Short History of Nearly Everything the planet is still in an ice age, but we are currently in an interglacial period, and this one has lasted longer than most other ones, so we could be poised for a plunge back into coldness. I had never heard that before, and I'm sure there are critics of that thought, but I still thought it was interesting.

Never even heard of this until now. I tend to shun weather movies, though. I like weather and water and they always want to make them scary in movies.
