Snap choices

more snappy questions...

Who has tried using OTHER snaps on their "thesnapstore.com" snap press & Dies?

I see some snaps labeled "Chinese" ~ 1/4" top dies & 3/4" bottom dies - is this common?

The proprietary snap thing is bamboozling me.
Just got 1000 snaps, 250 sets in 5 colors for 25.00. Hope this is a good deal?

In WAHM tradition, always trying to save a buck or moo.

I don't know anything about the specific snaps you're asking about. However, I have tried using snaps from different sources and dies from different sources in a snap press. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I know SOME are compatible, but the trial and error you go through to find out may not be worth it, IMO. In my case, I ordered snaps from another source. Took them a week to arrive. I tried them, they didn't work with my dies. Then I ordered the dies from the place I got the snaps. That took another week and a half. The dies didn't fit in my press. I then ordered a press from the place where I got those snaps. She shipped it FedEx, the UPS guy picked it up. They sent it back, but the shipping place was closed so they left the package next door at the yogurt place (same owner), and a week later after much complaining from me about my lost package, the shipping place found my package at the yogurt store and sent it to me. Moral of the story: Keep life simple - order snaps, dies and a press from the same place and always the same place.

that's a good deal for snaps, especially in colors of sets. snaps, as long as they are poly resin, and the right size (20 or 16 or whatever) they should work just fine. thesnapstore.com uses KAM snaps and they are pretty universal. I know that OSDS has a special line of dies and snaps that ONLY fit their own stuff. I buy from www.snap-happy.net Carmen is a doll and killer prices!! Fast shipping too, even from CA.
