wool soaker support needed!

Thread Starter
I am a very novice knitter and would love, love, love to knit soakers for my little girl for the summer. I have already purchased the yarn and everything! I have gotten some patterns off the net but I would love a recommendation for the easiest pattern that I would be most likely to have success with. What is the difficulty level of soaker knitting? Will I need to call in reinforcements (Grandma - but she won't be here until mid-June!)? I have knit a pretty fancy baby blanket and know most of the stiches but I've never had to join anything together....

Jenny's soaker pattern - http://mywebpages.comcast.net/kfegel...r_pattern.html

You can do this one! I taught myself to knit about a month ago from a book and I am on my second one of these. This time I added ribbing and I am going to change the increases/decreases just to play a little. The only "problem" with this pattern is there is no gauge or needle size listed. I find that I am a tight knitter, and using size 4 needles and Fisherman's yarn, this pattern makes the perfect small/newborn soaker. With bigger needles and thiker yarn, of course it will be bigger. To make it even bigger, just ad rows and stitches. Simple!

Seriously, this is a piece of cake for a VERY novice knitter like myself, so I know you can do it too!

Good luck!

try the fern and faerie free pattern! You dont have to sew seams, it is knit in the round. look at www.fernandfaerie.com in the links section, i believe.
