I would like to make a few zippered bags, wet bags,... I can sew straight lines and have made pjs and other simple things on the sewing machine. But I've never done any zippers. Any tips on how to sew on zippers? And for the wet bags, what kind of zippers should I get? And where?

I just added a zipper to a wetbag that I first made with a drawstring...I ended up taking out the string b/c it was always getting stuck. I measured the top of the bag and bought a regular zipper at joann's (a fabric store) and just pinned it and sewed it on. I didn't even really use the instructions and used a regular presser foot (not a "zipper foot"). It took some patience, but it turned out great. NO smells coming out of that thing now!
It was my first zipper and I definitely consider myself a novice sewer. YOU CAN DO IT! GO FOR IT!

And also, all zippers come with instructions too...
