Exercise for apartment dwellers ...

Thread Starter
This may seem an odd question, but does anyone have a suggestion for exercise that can be done in an apartment and, well, won't upset the lady downstairs? You know, not a lot of jumping or hard stepping or ... whatever ... without buying equipment?

I know yoga would be "low impact," but is it any good for weight loss or someone who's really, really, really out of shape (read: me)?

Amy- I hear ya! I am an upstairs apt dweller and really out of shape LOL There is a Fat-Burning Yoga tape that is pretty good, and I just noticed the new DVD of it has different levels to choose from and so would be good for a beginner.

I do yoga and I am really, really out of shape too. I do think it is helping.
Since I started the yoga I've lost about 5 pounds (total of 60 pounds lost so far--100 more to go) and I do think it is helping with the toning.
I do the "Total Yoga" tape, I definitely work up a sweat.

Another good method is the richard simmons' sweatin' to the oldies tapes. They are low impact, you can step softly, shouldn't bother the downstairs too much. Also great for those really out of shape. At my highest weight it was the only tape that I could get all the way through. Super cheesy but effective.
