Is there anyone that's not on the Diaper Fairy list? - Page 2

I'm not, mostly because I don't have nice brand dipes to fairy with, I've made nearly all of baby's stash.

question? can we fairy EC used dipes? would people want them? I thought we could only fairy new ones. When I fairy used I dont do it through here because I didnt know if any of the mamas on here would want them...

I asked that question and the answer was yes. You can fairy used dipes in EC. I thought about this too and I know I would be happy with used items. Being a fairy does not have to be expensive. At first I was a bit intimadated with some of the great stuff being sent. Then I told myself that I would be happy just to be thought of and I know all of you feel the same.

Actually I've been wondering for a while.. can we fairy people without being on the list? (For one I wouldn't qualify lol ). No one really knows me either so I would feel funny being on it..lol. Although I LOVE the idea! I like the idea of doing something without expecting anything in return, what a wonderful feeling BTW I know I need to have 50 plus posts to do this.. I lurk way more often then I post.. bad me..!

I am on the list and I don't think I'm very well known here. I joined because I love to give "just because."

I'm enjoying watching what people say they are wanting and go "Hum, I'll keep an eye out."

I'm not on the list either...

I'd love to be able to fairy someone but we don't have the $$. I don't buy the wahm diapers because I cant afford them. I also have plenty of diapers so am not in need of any. So I just decided to not do it. Maybe one day when I am rich and famous from my diaper store...AHHAHHHAHH rich and famous from my diaper store. Um hum sorry I lost my mind there for a minute.

I think a handmade diaper by a mdc mama is as special if not more so then a purchased diaper. I wouldn't *not* sign up because of this. Go sign up! Mama's here love everything handmade! The time and effort you put into your fairying is part of what makes it special, too.

If I faried someone (with something homemade anyway) it would be pretty obvious who it came from by the postal markings.

Also do ya'll DC fairy stuff? I'd just die not knowing if one of my beloved diapers didn't make it to it's new home.

I missed the original fairy posts so I didn't know what it was about until I just saw the link. I might sign up. I'd like to knit something for someone.
And if I happened to get fairied myself that would be nice too since my stash is pretty minimal.

I also feel that I'm not well known enough either but I don't think that'll stop me. I doubt anyone will care if they receive something from a fairy that's not in the "in crowd". lol Besides when you fairy someone it's anonymous right?

I am not on it either.
I was on the fence about it, but I decided not to do it.
Seems kinda hard I would feel bad knowing there are some mommas on there not getting anything, and others getting 2 or 3 packages. I have seen posts, and for my well-being (and my financial issues at the present time) I have chosen to stay off it.
There have been some mighty hefty fairy packages and I would feel terrible not being able to "pay it forward"
Plus I don't want to hurt anyones feelings

I'm on the list, because I want to be able to fairy. I think the best gift would be something home-made, be it whatever. We don't have a lot of money to spend on expensive dipes and I think most of us do it to help our financial situations. So if I were to be fairied with something that some mama took the time to make me because she thought I could use and enjoy it, I would be thrilled. I also think the best fairy gifts would be those little things we all put off buying because we'd rather spend our money on dipes...like wipes and such.

I'm an independent fairy, for now.

I totally agree. I can understand a mama thinking "well, it's not new, it's not brand, it's just handmade, what if they think it's cheesy", I have the same thoughts. But y'know what? Think of yourself. What would you think if you got a MDC mama made dipe in the mail. I would think it's pretty nifty myself. And if someone turned their nose up, shame on them and feel sorry for them b/c they don't appreicate a gift from the heart more than a gift from the pocketbook!

also - think outside the box ladies. You can fairy a half doz wipes, or a sample size wool wash, or just one little dyed prefold. It doesnt have to be anything expensive at all. I know I would love to recieve something little like that. How fun is it to get mail?

Okay I think some people are missing the point of being

on the fairy list. It is not what you give or receive, it is not the value or whether it is from a manufacturer or a wahm, used or new. The whole point is it is a gift from the heart. A gesture of kindness. Whether the value is $5 or $50 it really makes no difference. The difference is that someone cared enough to think of you and vise versa. The whole meaning of giving is just that giving. It is not so much what is given but the fact that it comes from the heart.

Well said Kathleen. I haven't signed up b/c right now, I'm not in a position to give anything fancy and that's just me being petty....also, I have this notion that if I sign up, people will think I'm expecting something or being greedy...SAD rears its ugly head.
