I just signed up, cause I wanna fairy a few mamas with some wool I didn't sign up at first cuase I thought it was only diapers, but I've been told by a lot of the fiary mamas that diaper-related is okay, so a few lucky mamas are gonna get some handpainted wool

WOW! What lucky mamas! I had no idea people thought it was just dipes. I've fairied a few necklaces here and there too.

I'm not on it because I thought it was for Mama's who were not fortunate enough to be able to afford an ample supply, or the occasional special diaper they deserve. I'm not ultra wealthy, but we can afford the extra's if we wish. Maybe I was confused. I'd feel weird getting something from someone besides my husband and children through my husband. No one but them ever gives me "gifts". I have one of those Mother's I owe everyting to she proclaims, so she always expects gifts. Blech.

This thread made me realize that I needed to update the Diaper Fairy page. I have updated the Guidelines area, and I added an Examples section that lists some situations in which you might want to be a diaper fairy. There are several things that we've discussed in threads, and I never posted the decisions on the Diaper Fairy page. If you see that I have missed something, please, please, please email me and let me know!

here's my take... Don't we all need to practice receiving as well as giving? As mothers, we need (and I mean need) to take care of ourselves both body and spirit so that we have the fullness of ourselves available to gift to our children and our partners (and friends and community). We are not able to give fully and openly if there isn't anything left inside... and this means being able to accept gifts of self-time or help with chores or even uplifting diapers! This whole fairy fun seems like a great way to practice the cycle of giving and receiving - filling up, feeling gratitude, and passing it on however we can. ggma

I am not on the list, but I can tell you that if I got a homemade goodie in the mail from the fairy it would make my week. You should not hesitate because you think you make your own dipes and they are not worthy or something. The thought that somebody went to the trouble to hand make something and send it to me, well, there would be no better gift.

I'm not on the list for a variety of reasons...I don't feel like I "know" anyone well enough to fairy them, and would be afraid to offend them, I don't want to seem like I'm asking for something, and I don't have the money to buy the really nice things that everyone else has been sending. Insecurity talking, maybe, but I keep thinking someone would see my name on the list and say, " Why is SHE on there? And who IS she, anyhow?"

I originally didn't sign up, honestly because it I felt like everybody was signing up in hopes of getting something. Then poor Shandelle, pmed me and said she wanted to fairy me and I wasn't on the list! I got on the list then, because she felt she had ruined the surprise, yet, it was such a surprise to know that someone was evening *considering blessing me! I would hate for someone else if they wanted to bless me to ruin the element of surprise. AND, it wasn't a or one of the WAHM store dipes. It was a dipe she made! It is *so special b/c she said she made it and thought of me. I am more excited over that dipe than my fuz.

Hey, Meg, what's ur dh's deal with used dipes? I don't buy ones with stains and in good condition and only twice now from here.....I wasn't sure at first; but, then what are diaper service dipes?
