Poll: doppler, fetoscopes and US

I don't know exactly how to do a poll but heres the jest of what I'm trying to do.
are you
1. doing a fetoscope exclusively?
2. doppler until fetoscope is able to pick up heart tones NO US
3. doppler, no US
4. doppler, anatomy US
5. doppler, non-anatomical reveal US

Just curious. We do a 10 second doppler, and I beleive at this next appt. we'll be able to transfer into the fetoscope. No Us. I know one of us october moma's has used doppler once, and is now waiting for fetoscope to work? I think Katie? While Letia has had not had the pleasure of ever hearing the heartones? Is that correct?
and LOTS OF BOYS!

I have had the doppler for just for 10 seconds the first time I think it was at 11 weeks. Just had the doppler again and longer this time at 19 weeks. I am hoping to go the rest of the pregnancy with just a fetoscope. If I labor in water the mw will use a doppler other wise fetoscope.

Wont be having a u/s.

The mw thinks I have an anterior placenta.

We use the fetoscope exclusively, except during labor (then doppler).

I'm not sure about Katie..... Seems like she and I were in the same boat...and she couldn't hear at 19 1/2 last appt. Me either; but, she tried, when I was there at 18 and some. I was praying; but, its still early, so as long as the baby is growing ok, I know he's not dead. I just didn't feel comfortable with the u/s, which is the video or doppler, the later being continous u/s although, its applied for a short period of time, still not workin for me. I look forward to it tho. How will it go? She'll have to give us the ear thingies, since its not an amp or whatever like the doppler?

I was thinking about my wb....she'll need to us doppler then?

Used doppler at both OB visits. Will probably use it for each visit for a while, I think. Only use it for a few seconds.

Had an early U/S, then one before my amnio, and another on Wednesday (regular diagnostic one). This has been a big intervention-style PG so far!

Still, I just can't get enough of seeing my little bean floating around in there. And we'll be getting a 3D pic with the one on Wednesday.

17 wks 6 days

Doppler is being used right now, but my mw will use the fetoscope later on. It's also good training for my mw's apprentice. As for ultrasounds, we had an early one done at 7 1/2 weeks to date the pregnancy since my cycles vary from 30-50 days. My mw doesn't require and ultrasound but will refer us if we wish. I think we may wait and get a 3D one done closer to 30 weeks. Purely selfish on my part. This may be our last child and I would *love* to have 3D pics to cherish. A friend of mine just had one done and the pics of her son are absolutely amazing.

I have had two u/s, one for dating and then the regular 18 week one. We have also listened twice with the doppler at my appt. but I plan on asking midwife to use the fetoscope now that I am further along, it still might be too early at my appt. tomorrow but I don't feel the need to hear the h/b with the doppler this time as I just had my u/s on Fri.

I've had the doppler once so far, for a minute or so trying to find a heartbeat. I'll continue having it at my appts. I'm going to have an US in a couple weeks to see the baby and check things out -- we won't be finding out the sex, a surprise at the end is SOOOO much better!!

We've done a quick doppler so far ... this last time my doc found the heartbeat immediately, it really was no more than 5 seconds. Now that I can feel the baby moving consistently, I have no emotional "need" to hear the HB. I'll ask her to use the fetalscope in the future.

We have our 20 week U/S this coming Thursday ... It's just a regular anatomical "make sure everything looks ok" U/S we hope to find out the gender, but if we can't tell, we won't have another U/S for that reason alone. We declined the AFP/TripleScreen/Maternal Serum/whatever you want to call it test, so we did feel inclined to have the regular U/S, aside from the fact that we'd really like to know if it's a boy or girl
