Hospital Stats?

Does anyone know where to obtain recent statistics for the average cost of hospital birth? I'm preparing a letter to appeal insurance reimbursement for homebirth. Thanks for any help!!

Call your local hospital's accounting department, and maybe their public relations department. See if they will give you the low down. Don't forget, when you write your insurance company, to include that hospital's section statistics, and how much a section costs, versus your midwife's section stats. Any other stats would be great too--complication rates, intervention rates (every intervention costs money), newborn complication rates and interventions, post partum (after hospital dismissal) infection and complication rates...the list goes on and on.
