Wow!

What sweet greetings from you all!

Yes, I welcome new sisters, daughters, granddaughters... the more family the better.

It is kinda nice to finally be to the Crone Goddess age, having sure done my time in the Virgin and Mother phases.

I will try to toss in things here and there on threads, but you ladies are doing such cool things for your kids, I must admit to being very very impressed, and feeling a bit dinosaur-like at times.

You have truly carried the task into the future though, and changed the way kids and Moms are treated, for the better.

I can remember tandem nursing my first with my best friend's baby in a grocery checkout line in 1972, and hearing the murmurs and whispers from the church lady types. My friend's DD had massive heart defects, and Momma Milk is all she could tolerate. Unfortunately, my friend lost her milk from worry and stress over the lil one, so I wet nursed her tiny bluish DD next to my huge strapping 9 pounds at birth DS. Her DD only survived a few months, but it was an awesome experience for a 19 year old Mom, like me.

Geeez, did we ever get some looks in public! I was defiant though, hehehehe, as even then I was into feeding kids the Right Stuff in a clean place.

Things sure have come a long way.

Hugs to all!

The best thing about being a young Mom, is being a young empty nester.
You can still have a Life After Kids, lol.

Deadhead Granny, I am 48 and my dh is 50 and he is a Deadhead. In fact, he is camping in the Poconos with a bunch of his friends right now called the Grateful Goats. They go to shows together. Talk about a second child hood. But 2 of our teen kids are with him, we are not empty nesters yet.

He is heading off to Bonaroo in Tenn in June.

Me, I am not a crone quite yet, but I am getting there. I do feel like one when I lead my bfing mtgs and all the new moms are so young.

SaintMom, 7 kids! My hat is off to you!
And yes, that is an amazing age spread.
Bless your heart, kids do keep you young, don't they?

DaryLLL, hey Sis! It is good to know that sometimes our ideals and values stay the same through life.
The Grateful Goats, eh? Hehehehe. Love the name.

Cool Kesey quote:
"We may not be sure of what we are looking for, but we all gotta stick together in case somebody finds it."
