I am so relieved! It's not a secret anymore!! OT, Did I set a record for the latest anyone has told their employer? 17.5 weeks!!!

So... here's the story:
We were sitting in my office, and he was telling me about all these projects he wants me to do (that's a whole 'nother story) and when I sensed a pause, I said, "So I have some news! DH and I are going to have a baby!" He looked very surprised, but reacted right away and said, "Really? That's great! Congratulations! So did you plan it?"

: I wasn't about to tell him we'd been trying since three months before I got the job, so I said, "Oh, you know, things happen..."

He went on to tell me about how his two kids weren't planned, but how he and his wife were really happy they had them.
Then he asked me if I knew what I wanted to do after the baby was born, "I know you'll want to take some time off, but have you thought about what you'd like to do? We'd really like for you to come back!" I said I wasn't sure, and all he said was, "Well, ideally we'd like as much notice as possible if we need to replace you, as soon as you decide."
THEN... there's this trip that he had asked me to go on to a conference our company is sponsoring (and pretty much running), and it's in the middle of July, all outdoors. He brought that up, and said, "I don't remember when it is that you'll start to get uncomfortable, but you might not want to be standing around outside for two days at the conference!" I told him I didn't think it would be a problem, but that we'd have to make frequent stops while driving so I could stretch my legs and walk. He said that we didn't have to make any decisions then, and that we'd just play it by ear, and if I didn't feel like going it wasn't a big deal.
I AM SOOOOOOO RELIEVED! And really surprised with his reaction! Thanks for the positive thoughts!!
