Need some books for the weekend

We are going to the coast for a long weekend and rain is forecasted.

I need to pick up some books at the library.

Recently I have read:
I Know This Much is True
Middlesex
Memoirs of a Geisha
Into the Forest
DaVinci Code
Red Tent
Girl With a Pearl Earring
and more...

I loved them all and am pretty easy going about what I enjoy. Basically a good story with good characters.

I especially prefer stories set in a different time like Romans or Egypt.

I liked most of the books you mentioned except for MIddlesex. I think you will like The Time Traveler's Wife, a GREAT read. Another fun beach weekend book is The Dirty Girls Social Club. Sorry I can't remember the authors.
