Finished knitting a soaker...now what?

Okay, now I have completed the knitting portion of the project. What next? How do I prepare it for use? I have not tried it on my baby but it looks a bit big. Is there a way I can shrink it (is that what you mean by 'felting it') a little at a time? I am clueless here.

I have used 2 ply 100% Pure virgin wool from Briggs and Little. After I have the right size then do I need to add lanolin to it? How do I do that?

I am really anxious to finish it up and give it a try. Thanks for your help!

I wouldn't felt it because that would get rid of the elasticity. If it's a bit big, either use a cord around the waist (I-cord, crochet string, braid, etc.) to secure it or wait until your baby grows into it. You do need to lanolize it before you use it.

Thank you. How do I go about lanolinizing it?
