I've decided to make a list of who's gone and who hasn't, with links to birth stories. Why? I dunno. Maybe it's my warped way of nesting. :LOL At any rate, PM me if you're missing or if I've got the wrong info.

My EDD was actually 1 June. Maybe I wrote in wrong somewhere. In amy case, I'll get cracking on that birth story as soon as dh wakes up and hooks up our camcorder to the TV. I need some reminding about details.

Thanks for doing this!

I'm due the 20th!
Hey guys...I know I don't have the chance to write in much anymore, but I'll add my name to the list...my edd was june 18th, so I'm + 5 days. Waiting is HARD, but I keep telling the little bean it's okay if he/she is comfy in there, I am just really excited to meet this person.

For the labor length stats, mine was 14 hours. It probably won't be the longest or shortest, but who knows?
planned hospital birth....had induction due to pre-eclampsia...vaginal birth

my labor was 1 hr 7 min from start of induction to birth of baby.
how do you decide how long? Active labor (as in past 4 cm) or total? B/c Smithie would have been in labor for, like, 3 weeks!

Yeah, but QoC, even if you're talking past four cm, was in labor for what, a month? :LOL

Active labor as in having regular contractions which are doing something. Hm, I guess that would technically make mine the shortest, since I had none at all! :LOL
post #13 of 19
I'm not sure how we fit into the stats... We had a planned HB that turned into a planned c-sec that turned into a vag breech birth at the hospital (barely ) And it was 1 hr 25 minutes from the first contraction to delivery, not counting the 3 or 4 weeks of prodomal. And do I really have the only NICU babe? That's really good only having 1 out of 27!!

I think that labor time would be amount of labor you had the day baby was born? (or days if you were in labor for days before hand.....)
The labor that I'm counting was 5 hours 44 minutes. It was distinctly different from all that went before
post #16 of 19
if we go by ctx same day, I'd say mine was a wonderful 20 hours, only 2 hours 15 minutes of which was active/difficult in any way.
Okay, I'm here now. Baby boy (still no name) was born July 8th at 3:29am.

As for stats, my membranes broke at 7 am on the 6th. I started having pretty regular contractions about 12 hours later. So that was about 32 hours. I had some stalls in there, but not long enough to rest much. Ours was a planned homebirth and that's where we stayed (good thing too... the hospital would never have let me go that long)

Ceili, I had a hospital birth with my son and labored for much longer than 32 hours after my water broke. *Much* longer. So there are some that will let you do it.

As far as I can tell, everything is correct and up-to-date now.

just want to add, for the list, my apologies for not having posted my birth story yet. We had a planned home birth, after 14 hours of labor/3 hours active labor. I wasnt sure if we were in the stats or not, since I didnt get it posted yet.
BTW Rhynna- This is REALLY cool to see! We have a wonderfully healthy group!
