Who Loves their PF's? - Page 2

I love my UBCPFs, too!!

We're simple, we either do a very basic fold or I trifold and fold down the front portion to make a poo pocket. I have moved to doing laundry every third day, so she's in PFs for two of those days and fitted the other one.

There is something so simple and sweet about a prefold and a natural wool cover.

Love my prefolds!!! I know that Jenn had some pics for how to do the bikini twist, Oh Jenn where are you????

Don't have even one prefold!

I mostly cloth diaper my daughter although some people like nani and gram refuse! LOL I was told by all cloth diapering friends not to bother. I have a pretty expensive stash now! nearly all AIO's and a few fitteds. (take a while to dry!) So I am curious what is this fold your talking about and for the next baby (were trying to get pregnant should be ovulating soon!) what would I want to buy for a prefold????? I have heard chineese prefolds are best very thick and absorbant but I don't know what do you think and where do you get pretty ones? Couldn't we tie dye them ourselves????!!! I think it would be fun!

As you can see by this thread, lots of us Love our CPF's. I would like to dye mine but I have never done it so I have no advice for you except ask around here. Lots of mom's do it. And pf's can be difficult to get used to, especially if you use mostly AIO's. But you'll get the hang of it. They are so cheap, IMO they should be a staple in everyones stash.

I bought a dozen! I will try them but I am scared! LOL I also bought a couple more fuzzi bunz. Has anyone here tried wonderoos???? We are trying to get pregnant and it would be nice to be able to use dipes I buy Ali for the new baby from the start! Storing dipes is not my idea of fun!

Don't be scared!! I was a little worried about getting the hang of folding too. Just find some pictures online, and after a couple of diaper changes, ypu'll be a pro! I find bikini twist to be the easiest/fastest for me.

Can't comment on the other dipes, but we do have a wonderoo coming in the mail soon.

Stefanie

I know you can get some hand dyed ones (solid colors, not tie dyed) at www.sunflowerderrieres.com

How do you dye prefolds? Will Kool Aid work?

Okay, am I the only one who thinks the bikini twist just looks messy with a snappi? It makes me sad to see it, all wonky when I take off his cover. The newspaper fold just stays so neat and tidy (well, most of the tie)...am I missing something? Or am I just anal and everyone just lives with it? I fold down the front with bikini twist, BTW! Front-wetting boy...

I don't like the bikini twist for the same reason. we do the newspaper fold here and love our prefolds with a soaker over them. Super breathable and cute. But I have to put a cover on now ds knows how to take off the snappi.

Patiently awaiting the rest of my CPF's

Thanks, Jen!

I just started using prefolds and am feeling the We just trifold & lay into a Bummis SWWW or Bumkins wrap & they're great! I just got microfiber towels from BJ's & will start using those on top as a stay-dry liner too. So easy! I got a dozen IPF from Granitesmith on ebay & DD is barely fitting into them with a regular fold. I tried the bikini twist with a snappi using an UBCPF and it worked very well but i agree, it's messy looking. That's ok though. Next i'll see if the bikini twist gives me enough room in an IPF.
I want to know how to dye them too! I don't think kool aid works on cotton, so it would have to be regular tye dye stuff, right?

I love my prefolds. I use the bikini twist and find that it stays neater than the newspaper, since I have never mastered the newspaper fold. I twist, tuck the private parts, tuck the legs and snappi.

since day one i've exclusively used bikini twist. dd is 1 yr old now and can still squeeze into infant size but i bought premiums and i just fold down the back abt 1.5-2inchesfold and then bikini twist or once in a while newspaper. i looooooooooove cpfs :

we're not even thinking of ttc yet and i'm trying to trade for preemie/infant cpfs for the next baby! lol

Yup, we're a mostly prefold family here. I've got a few SP for showing off and some FB for night.

Sunflower Derrieres has a quantity discount, and I mine.

Sure love my CPF's on DD............have a bunch of IPF's for the baby coming in August and they are soooooo soft.......can't wait to use them!

I'm on the fence about the bikini twist. Works fine and is easy, but a bit bulky for me.

By the way, I've been chopping up my prefolds and turning them into fitteds to snappi or pin and am in love with the result. Cheap, dry fast, easy enough to make, nary a blowout, and a trimmer fit than a folded PF under a cover. What more can you ask for? Just posted pics on the sewing board yesterday b/c I'm so pleased with them.

I really do love my prefolds...especially for a toddler...it so much trimmer than even a pocket diaper! I will snappi it and use a prorap as a cover...very trim fit!

Prefolds & covers are all I own, and I love'em to bits. Makes me proud to see all my cleanly washed bright white prefolds hanging out in the sun

Dyeing PFs is fun and easy!!! I have been using tie dye kits from Michael's, I think the brand is Red Rock? Anyway, its fiber reactive dye, with the urea mixed in, and comes with the soda ash fixer you need to presoak your dipes. My tie dye experiments aren't as pretty as TDD or anything, but much cheaper, and a fun activity. You need a few plastic tubs, I use gladware, and some ziplocs, and there you go. I've also done solid colors, which have turned out well. I definately have the PF love, currently using regular CPF, premium IPF (a bit narrower, but soo soft), and premium CPF. I still have my infants, but they don't really fit anymore! (DS is 17lbs at 3 mo). I keep wanting to buy more, even though I have 40, and wash every other day. Can't wait to try that jellyroll fold, though, looks trimmer between the legs than newspaper. I also hate how messy the bikini twist looks

I love the bikini twist. Well, on ds I do but not on dd. I guess it is different with every baby. In fact the bikini twist is all I use on ds.
