June 6th - 12... Update us! And QOTW - Page 2

I'm finally jumping in to this- I think it has been weeks since I answered one of these.

How are you doing emotionally? I'm doing pretty well. I found myself in tears driving to work listening to an NPR story about kids graduating from high school with a parent in Iraq. I totally lost it.

And does anyone else just feel fat right now? Do your dh's love your body, or start to lose interest? My dh is pretty blind to my body's faults in general I think he enjoys my pg body too, sometimes more then I want him too.

Oh, and for those on #2 or more... are you already feeling everything loosen and spread If I'm laying down and I cough, I get some pretty sharp ligament pains. Ouch! Besides that, things seem pretty normal.

I've also found, over the last week or so, that whenever I stand up from squatting I get a big headrush. I think all that extra blood is causing it.

I'll be 18 weeks on Friday, and I have my ultrasound scheduled for that day. We aren't going to find out the sex (though I'm increadibly curious), but I'm excited to see the baby.

I'm at 18.5 weeks and fighting an awful summer cold. Poor DS has the same thing so we are coughing together.

Q'sOTW: How are you doing emotionally? Are your hormones doing a loop de loop??? Loop de loopier than a loon here! I tend to be pretty emotional anyway, but now it is just magnified. Also, I have a very short temper...I think DS and and the dog have gone together and started advertising for a new, sane mommy in the want ads. The hot, humid weather we've been having, plus having a cold are just adding to the fun!

And does anyone else just feel fat right now? Do your dh's love your body, or start to lose interest? Well, I felt fat before getting pg, but things are definitely getting more front to back than side to side now. I still haven't gained very much though. DH is always interested, but I think he is being more controlled by the "don't touch me or I will scratch your eyes out" sentiment I have been having (see mood swings, above)

Oh, and for those on #2 or more... are you already feeling everything loosen and spread? The things I am most aware of loosening is the nifty little valve on the stomach that keeps things down as well as the kegel muscles. Whenever I get a nice coughing fit, I usually end up both puking and peeing my pants. I threw up three times yesterday...even in the first trimester, I was puking close to every day, but never more than once a day. UGH!!!

Attached mom to 7...GREAT NEWS about the previa moving up

Is anyone else just amazed that we're already getting close to halfway???

Hee, hee, hee, some of the new smilies just crack me up. I especially like these...me now: me after November: This is SO ds right now!!

usually by the time i get done reading everyones posts i feel zapped and have to get off the computer...this time im gonna hang in there and post.

emeotions:and moodswings:......well today at work (i drive people to the DRs and psychaiatrist sp? and dentist etc) today two of my people were bi poler (sp?) and were talking about their lives and i started to think it sounded quite familiar!! (unfortunatly i dont think its pg related). but yep the tv does bring on the teary eyes... all it takes is a hint of emotional music ... even some advertisments

feeling fatyep. but a lady in a store did say she noticed my belly and so understood why i wanted to use her rest room, so yay! (i remember what a shock it was when the first person asked when i was due, with #1, till then i thought it was just my little secret). so im officially a pregnant person now.

Dh has been hasseling me about beefing up since i started driving, ive been slowly but surely gaining sinse then...about 10lbs over 6mths plus about 8lbs in the last 4mths. im not too worried except that im normally really active but now with this job im just sitting on my butt all day. so i wonder if im gonna have something to worry about before too long?

DH is always interested...and now...hes meeting his match

I'm posting, but not answering the above questions. I guess it is because it is six in the morning, and I am cranky after yet ANOTHER sleepless night. I cannot sleep still at all these days, and it is really getting to me! I don't know if it is hormones or what, but I am constantly tossing and turning in bed. Part of it is the definite discomfort of my newly size F breasts (I was D before the pregnancy). They really get in the way of my arms when I am lying on my side now. Anyway, I am kind of nervous that I am not going to sleep for the next 4.5 months.

So... that's my update for the week of June 6!

Shell, I have one word of advice for you: PILLOWS. Lots of 'em. That is the only thing that helped me sleep with DS. I had the same boob problem and the thing that worked was sleeping with pillows against my chest/torso. That way my arms rested on the pillows without bothering the boobs. As the belly expanded, I propped it up with another pillow so it wouldn't pull me off my side toward my stomach. And I always sleep with a pillow between my legs for my back. By the time DS arrived I had so many pillows strategically placed that DH finally gave up and started sleeping on the sofa so he would have room to move! It was quite an adventure getting everything arranged just right, but it really did help me sleep better!

Hope you get some rest soon...sleeplessness is no fun!!

Thanks Jen for the advice! I was on a business trip earlier this week, and I used a king sized pillow lengthwise to keep my belly and boobs from "dragging" (kwim?) me down. It definitely did help. What I liked about using the king pillow is that I can use it as a normal pillow at the top, but it is long enough to reach my belly. I really should run out and get one today, so I have no more sleepless nights (hopefully)! I generally do not like sleeping with multiple pillows, but that might change... But the really good news is that our new mattress arrived 30 minutes ago! My futon days are over!

When I came home on the plane from the business trip I took, I couldn't reach my bag under the seat in front of me, because my belly wouldn't fold "in half" to let me crouch down. God, I'm really pregnant! Is anyone else having these "eureka!" moments?

I think this time around I'm going to get one of those pregnancy body pillows, I really like this one http://store.babycenter.com/product/...EH5SCUAQMMSJBQ

It's like a big boppy for us! Last pregnancy, I used to stuff a dozen pillows around me, but as soon as I got comfortable, never fail, I had to get up to pee. I like the look of this pillow because it goes all the way around for support, and it looks like I can prop the top boob on it when I'm on my side.
