Ok guys, how bout some ideas for fathers day? Things to do or gifts.....

My dh wont tell me what he wants.........

so frustrating!!!

Make him a frame (you can have the kids paint one at a paint it yourself porttery studio, get an acrylic fillable one and fill it with something fun, or get a cheapie wooden one and paint it or decorate it with sea shells, buttons or any fun thing) then take a picture of the kids and put it in.

Dd has drawn (scribbled) a picture for dh, which I have framed with the date on it. I'm planning to do the same each year.

A few weeks ago I started making a tape of Eli and I talking. He is a month shy of two and I got him to say a toddler version of Happy Fathers Day. Otherwise we just talked for 10-15 minutes, about cows, bulldozers, etc. I thought I'd tape more each year to so that Mike can remember how he sounded each year. A small gift, but one I know Mike will adore.

I'm making dh a cast of our dd's hand and foot. She's almost 3 months old and I made a cast of our son's hand and foot at the same age for Christmas of '98. His turned out so wonderfully... every pore, every wrinkle, every little bit of his tiny nails is all there.

He also wants new BBQ tools...and since it's summer and I hate to cook you know he's gonna get them! LOL!

I am going to get dh the books that won the Caldecott and Newberry awards for him to read to dd. Also got some tool thing he wanted....

Well...by now I guess a lot of you know what I got for DH for Fathers day....a new guitar. Every year our 4 year old has made a card for him, and this year our dd will too. We are going to the store today to get him something else......small from the kids... what as yet to be determined. The other thing I got for him was a collection of tapes from concerts we went to.
I think the cast idea is great. For mothers day we made stepping stone casts of the kid's feet. We kept a set, and gave the others to the grammas. What sort of hobbies does your DH have? I wish I had seen this eariler than the day before fathers day! Let us know what you chose.
