pattern for knitted wool soaker + questions

Thread Starter
i'm interested in knitting soakers for DS (i learned in first grade at Waldorf so am good but not fabulous -- i'm good at following patterns, though). so, i'm interested in patters/directions for doing this, as well as advice on types of yarn, needle size, etc.

also, a few questions about soakers. right now we use fuzzi bunz but i've noticed talk about soakers all over the place. how exactly do they work? it seems that folks love them for nighttimes? thought i'd ask and then try one out for myself!

There are a number of free ones:

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/kfegel...r_pattern.html

Also ones you buy:

Little Turtle Knits (I have this one)

Holy Sheep Yarns

Fern and Faerie

HTH! Note: I have never used any of the above. I just started learning to knit and have been collecting links.
