Hi everyone! Any recommendations on where I can buy a SNS? TIA!

Are you relactating? If you are relactating I would advise getting the lact-aid rather than the sns. You can order it from their website, www.lact-aid.com

My product recommendation would be Lact-Aid, simply because I used it with great results, and it is affordable. You can certainly order a Lact-Aid from the web site at the above link, but I think it would probably be better to order one through an IBCLC, who can help you learn to use it in person, instead of trying to make your way through the instructions with a howling baby. There is definitely a learning curve. Also, an LC may have a sample Lact-Aid, an SNS by Medela and maybe another supplementer for you to choose from. When I ordered mine, my LC gave me a feeding tube to use until the Lact-Aid arrived.

Good for you for trying a supplementer instead of bottles -- if your experience is anything like mine, putting up with the inconvenience will be greatly rewarded.

Thank you both for your replies! Yes I am relactating. What is the difference between a Lact-Aid & a SNS? Any advice on relactating, suplementers, etc. is much appreciated!

The lact-aid makes the baby work harder. The tubes are thinner and more flexible. The sns uses gravity to get the milk to baby, whereas with the lact-aid, they have to suck harder to get anything out. It does a better job of simulating "normal" nursing. Also, the lact-aid uses bags rather than a bulky bottle, making it more comfortable and easier to use discreetly. They even say you can wear the lact-aid bag underneath your shirt, though this didn't work for me.

When you order the lact-aid, you get two units. I would get extras, at least six units. It really helps with the cleaning and filling process. You can have six bags with tubes made up in the fridge all ready to be warmed, rather than having to clean and fill the thing every time you need to feed.

I know this is old, but I was wondering if it is easy to clean and re-use the bags of the Lact-Aid?

I never reused the bags. it's reccomended not to, as I recall.

I used a lact-aid with ds for a couple of months. it worked out great for us and I will forever cherish those extra months I got to nurse him (my milk eventually dried up but it was more to do with health issues than lack of trying)

I never tried to re-use lact-aid bags either. I think it would be quite a pain to clean them. They come in rolls of several hundred bags.

Well, everybody, it looks like I get to use the lact-aid again. We found out recently that we will possibly be adopting a baby in October! We had been ttc for the past two years and weren't expecting an adoption to fall into our laps, but this one sure did! There are some possible complications, so we're not completely counting on a baby. But, I am starting to think about how to induce lactation the second time around, and how to hopefully have it go better than the first time.
