I just got back from a cross-country trip and two week cruise with my 10 month old and the rest of my family. I've always been shy about BFIP (God, I remember the first time I did and I was in a total sweat!!) until this last trip. It's like someone flipped a switch. All of a sudden I (a) don't care who sees what because (b) unless we all start BFIP it will NEVER be the norm and many women will continue to feel intimidated or uncomfortable (like I did.) So, I just nursed him, wherever and whenever he needed to - I didn't bother finding a private corner and turning my back. When we were waiting for our flight home, I nursed him in a very crowded gate waiting area in the airport. A few times people looked at us, and I met their eye and smiled. I'm proud of myself and wanted to share.
