Fabulous videos and shows both styles.
I knit mostly continental but can throw too when the mood stikes me or for certain techniques. It is soooo much faster and relaxing for me to knit continental.

I knit Eastern Uncrossed/ Combined knitting. Its just contenential (hold yarn in left hand) but you wrap the purls around the opposite way then knit through the back loop instead of front loop. Its supposedly a faster way to knit and uses less yarn.

I do drop my needle in the left hand everytime I wrap; and I've been told that I'm a fast knitter.

Yeah, I was surprised to see it show up in my email notifications. It's been four years since I learned to knit, wow!

Grumperina has a couple videos for combined knitting...

I was doing combined for awhile (accidentally) and I switched to continental

I knit continental, with the yarn wrapped a couple times around my index finger. I can do English style, but it's much slower for me.
