The One Thread -- Father's Day Edition: June 20-26 - Page 15

Katy -- I realy don't like the digital tests, cause of other's experiences with them... but I agree you should test early, if your pelvis is in that much pain. Can you go get a blood test? Or -- do you have First Response tests there? Get one of those.

Use FMU (pee in a jar in the morning, if you need to).

I think the blood test would be best... and a trip to a chiro?

From personal experience, HCG numbers usually don't quite double, and are low with ectopics. Mine were doubling every 4 days, and were very low in comparison to a normal pregnancy. It sounds as though your numbers are great! Talk to your doc, and they can do a sonogram/ultra sound to make sure everything is growing in the right place. Hugs to you!

Oh heve!! I am praying for twins for you!!! That would be fabulous!

Step. Away. From. The. Digital. Test. In alexis' own words, they are the spawn of the devil. Unless you are very pregnant. I think they are the least sensitive, something like an hcg of 50??

Can you all look at my chart? Both FF and ovusoft seem to think I O'ed on cd16, but I think I o'ed on cd 13. What do you think? I couldn't figure out how to do a poll on FF.

Heavasoul- just wanted to say that the hcg levels sound like mine. Mine at 22 dpo were 8000. Had 2 u/s- baby is fine and no twins hope that comforts ya a bit

Thanks guys.

How's this for clear-as-mud info (from the same page as posted earlier):

Greater-than-normal levels may indicate choriocarcinoma of the uterus, ectopic pregnancy, hydatidiform mole of the uterus, normal pregnancy, or ovarian cancer. Once you have had an ectopic prgnancy, you have an increased risk for another, so your HCG numbers may be monitored more carefully.

Lower-than-normal levels may indicate dead fetus, incomplete miscarriage, or threatened spontaneous abortion. Pregnancies destined to miscarry or to be ectopic (tubal) pregnancies tend to show lower levels (eventually), but often have normal levels initially. Some normal pregnancies will have quite low levels of HCG ˜ and deliver perfect babies.

Heve, it's all good! Your numbers (and everything else) sound fabulous, totally healthy nothing to worry about. You are hereby banned from Googling until further notice.

fwiw, I went back and checked for my beta at 5 weeks pregnant (which would be what, like ~21 DPO??) with twins.... ok, sit down... 15,384! Two, healthy twins, mind you.... no uterine cancer or some other

You are pregnant with a healthy, growing babe (or two!). Enjoy!!

Hevea -- stop reading that page!!!! I agree that you're either having a "normal pregnancy" or TWINS!!! I think your high numbers are an excellent indication that everything is going along beautifully. And...can I borrow your mantra? I don't know about you and Ravenmoon, but every time I go to the bathroom I feel as though I'm suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I finally had a weepy, teary session (surprising, huh Alexis?) in dh's arms last night and released my anxiety and fears -- and you know what? It definitely helped! I'm not "relaxed" today, but I don't have all the nervous energy I had yesterday. I still hate going to the bathroom, though....

Jess -- ugghh..whatever you're suffering from (and I do hope it's implantation sickness) I hope you start to feel better very soon!

Korin -- thanks so much for the sticky baby vibes -- I can use all I can get! And I agree that you and Alexis will be getting pregnant at the same time!

Katy -- hope you get your relaxing bath.

Dani -- was it you who asked about giving up charting? That is exactly what I did after my 2nd m/c -- and looked what happened. 10 weeks later I'm pregnant. (Though I can't stress enough that charting taught me sooooo much!)

Hugs!

I love that we just a) banned digital tests as the spawn of the devil and b) banned Heveasoul from googling! We're so wacky!

Jess -- check out this thread over in "I'm pregannt" (it weirdly got bumped, but it orginated last year, and the mama has her baby now!): http://www.mothering.com/discussions...ad.php?t=59808 Diarhea as a morning sickness symptom... yikes, I hope that doesn't happen to me!

Anyway, my eyes itch like a mo-fo - stupid allergies. I think I'll go finish putting together my spare room (aka the dance/ yoga studio/ guest room). Then I'll be all finished unpacking! Yay!!!!

Belly Blessings!

Kate, yes i to am having major problems dealing with this. This morning i went and bought some First Response tests just to make sure and the line was there but not really dark.So i panicked. And went and bought the digital test i was shaking as i was waiting for the result. It was pregnant!Thank goddess but i am still so paranoid. Now i am worrying that my numbers aren't going to be doubling and that's why the FRE wasn't a dark line. Thanks to my Dr who wouldn't set up another beta test just so i could have piece of mind.

OB appt tomorrow. Please, please have them give me a Beta test.

I'm with you sista.
Velveteen - Can't thank you enough! It's tough sometimes - all these lovely wonderful women here getting pregnant (and sure to go on to be amazing mommies) and waiting, waiting, waiting (hence the name). Your suggestions are great! I need to find some peace within myself and books are a good option.

Erika – Hope you’re feeling better soon and the antidepressants help! BTW, if your MIL would say such mean things, then she’s an unfeeling and insensitive prude. How dare she presume to say that some higher power loves her more than you? That’s what I think when I hear others say it must be “God’s Plan” that someone is having difficulty TTC and others get pregnant so easily. What about all those babies born to crack-addicted moms? Or abusive parents? Wouldn’t this higher power want babies to be born into loving homes – like yours???? O.k., sorry about the rant – your MIL bites! :

Renee – Welcome and Hugs! I know it’s so hard to wait – TTC brings pressure of its own without those months and months of waiting added on. Sometimes being proactive helps distract – a few tests might not hurt and would perhaps give you some relief? I know some of mine did - especially after I changed doctors!!

Annakiss – Hugs to you too! I hate the hormone roller coaster – sometimes just letting go and crying it out for a bit helps though. Sad commercials seems to bring it on – chocolate ice cream helps! :LOL

Alexis - I know it’s hard to KHA every month – I’m right there with you!! I try to remember that having this “alone” time with DH will only help our future children - we are just increasing the love that our babies will be born into!! I also try to concentrate on me – massages, chiropractic, long soaks in tub during AF. And I work those foot rubs from DH whenever I can!! :

Me - I'm still 15DPO. I'm sure that DH and I didn't hit it right this month (just one GIO), but my chart says otherwise. However, after last months 17DPO fiasco, I am NOT running out to get a test . . . YET!!
Hahaha! Remember my defective pg test this morning? Well I emailed where I got them from and am getting 5 free tests. I'm so bad.
W4B - love it when people agree with me about my MIL. She's such a shrew sometimes. And lovin' that spike on your chart today! :
Erika - I agree! How is it that perfectly lovely DHs sometimes come from such crazy women??
Boyhowdy! Is everyone on the East Coast? Seems by the time I catch up on the huge number posts in the afternoon and post one of my own, everyone has gone into hiding. :
Hi W4B -- I'm here (and yes, I'm on the east coast!)

15 dpo and your chart is looking mighty fine -- though I don't blame you for not wanting to get your hopes up after last month. So, I'll do it for you! KHA! KHA! : : :

And I'd also have to strongly concur that chocolate ice cream cures all!

Here's some hugs, cause I know the 2ww sucks big time.
I soooooooooooo hope this is your month (and you know, it only takes one gio session to -- I just had to use that smilie.)

MamanFran -- good for you!!!! That'll teach 'em!
